Shougang Chengyun Fully Commits to Ensuring Construction of Beiren Yichuang International Convention and Exhibition Center
Release Time:2026-05-28Recently, the first hoisting operation for the main roof structure of Hall D of the Beiren Yichuang International Convention and Exhibition Center (Permanent Venue of the World Robot Conference), undertaken by Shougang Chengyun, was successfully completed. This marks a critical milestone in the project’s construction progress.
It is reported that Shougang Chengyun successfully won the bid for the “Beiren Yichuang International Convention and Exhibition Center Enhancement and Supporting Project” in 2025, undertaking the new construction of the convention center and the reconstruction of Hall D on its original site. Covering a total area of 22,000 square meters with a building height of 26 meters, Hall D serves as a large multi-functional exhibition and convention space. For its main roof, a three-dimensional steel truss structure adopts, achieving a 100-meter column-free super-long span roof system with a column grid span of 12 meters. The structure comprises 15 main trusses and 64 secondary trusses, with a total steel engineering quantity of 4,500 tonnes.
The main truss to be hoisted in this operation measures 7.5 meters in overall height, 4.7 meters in width, 107 meters in length, and weighs 215 tonnes. The hoisting presented challenges including large span, numerous structural members, complex node stress conditions, high installation precision requirements, and significant difficulties in high-altitude operation. Throughout the entire process from component fabrication and manufacturing to on-site assembly and finally the integrated hoisting, Shougang Chengyun faced extremely high requirements for quality control and technical organization. While ensuring construction safety and precision, the company vigorously improved the turnover efficiency of the construction site. A segmented hoisting process was employed on-site, strictly controlling the machining and assembly precision of components, the accuracy of temporary support erection, and deviations in the hoisting axis and elevation. Real-time monitoring of the truss axis and elevation changes during the crane hook release and unloading stages was also conducted to ensure the structural stress remained safe and controllable.
The successful implementation of the first hoisting fully validated the feasibility of Shougang Chengyun’s preliminary planning scheme and organizational execution on the scientific basis, demonstrating the company’s professional capabilities in the field of steel structure engineering and creating favorable conditions for subsequent construction. The company will continue to strengthen management coordination, advance subsequent construction tasks with high standards, and ensure the Beiren Yichuang International Convention and Exhibition Center project is completed with quality, safety, and efficiency.
Upon completion as planned, the Beiren Yichuang International Convention and Exhibition Center project aims to be developed into a technology-themed convention and exhibition complex reflecting the industrial characteristics of Beijing E-Town. By then, it will consolidate its core position as the permanent venue for the World Robot Conference on one hand, and is expected to become Beijing E-Town's global-oriented “World Meeting Room” on the other hand. The complex will provide strong support for enhancing the area’s industrial exhibition and exchange capabilities, improving urban functional supporting facilities, and strengthening the area’s comprehensive competitiveness.
