Recently, the China Aggregates Association announced the list of 15 large green aggregates bases in China’s aggregates industry in 2020, and Qian’an Shougang Mining Building Materials Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Shougang Mining Co., Ltd., was included on the list. It is among the first companies in the country to be included. 

Qian’an Shougang Mining Building Materials Co., Ltd. commenced construction of the Peizhuang Ecological Restoration Project in June 2019, and it was officially put into operation on January 1st, 2020. The project strictly implements the “five greens” standards: green resources, green production, green transport, green emissions and green development. In terms of raw materials selection, the project makes full use of solid waste from the surrounding waste dumps to avoid environmental pollution caused by digging into mountains and rocks, thus forming green resources. A fully closed production line has been constructed in strict accordance with the relevant national regulations, with advanced equipment and technology, and zero emissions in the production process, thus achieving green production. The products are shipped in full accordance with the national strategy of “shifting from road transport to rail transport”, and the company has given full play to its rail transport advantages by adopting the monorail rapid loading system to load products onto trains for sale, thus achieving green transport. The production of aggregates is coordinated with the extraction of Fe elements, and waste materials such as tailing mud are simultaneously used to develop soil improvement projects to realize the comprehensive utilization of all resources, thus achieving green emissions. Finally, the reclaimed soil is used for the ecological restoration and management of the vacated land where solid waste has been removed, and green development plans, agricultural production and other projects have been introduced, thus achieving green development.

The production line adopts a dry and wet combined process automatic interlocking control and automatic loading and sales system which achieves the 100% utilization of solid waste resources and zero emissions in the production process, thus promoting the ecological restoration and management of mines. In October 2020, Qian’an Shougang Mining Building Materials Co., Ltd. passed the four management system certifications of quality, environment, energy and occupational health and safety. In December 2020, it obtained the evaluation certificate for the green production and transport of aggregates. In May 2021, it won the title of Construction Aggregates Green Base of Beijing, providing a guarantee for better serving the construction of the capital.

In recent years, the Mining Company has made great efforts to develop the comprehensive utilization of resources. “Sand and stone mountains” have become “invaluable assets” through green transformation and green empowerment, creating a vivid case of Shougang employees practicing the concept of “lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets”.
