A few days ago, the Beijing SASAC System announced the 2021 list of “Models in State-owned Enterprises: Examples in Beijing”. Qinggele Jirigele, Communist and Chief Technical Expert of the Shougang Technology Research Institute, had the honor of winning the title “Innovation Model” among the ten top figures of “Models in State-owned Enterprises: Examples in Beijing”.

As Chief Technical Expert and Professor-level Senior Engineer of the Shougang Technology Research Institute, Qinggele Jirigele has completed more than 20 scientific research projects in the same industry in many regions, and many of her achievements have reached the internationally advanced and leading level. Her project achievements have won many scientific and technological awards at the industry, provincial and ministerial levels, and from the Shougang Group Corporation itself, creating direct economic benefits of more than RMB 300 million. She has obtained 11 invention patents authorized by China, more than 30 invention patents authorized by the team and one invention patent authorized internationally. She has won three first prizes for metallurgical science and technology, one third prize for excellent achievements from the Beijing Association for Science and Technology, and one third prize for science and technology in Hebei Province, as well as six first prizes, six second prizes and three third prizes for science and technology from Shougang. In 2017, she was rated as an outstanding young engineer in Beijing and won the honorary title “Model Worker of Shougang”. In 2019, she won the honorary title “Model Worker of the Iron and Steel Industry in China”.

One should love the job he or she does. For more than ten years, Qinggele Jirigele has been deeply rooted at the front line of scientific research, bravely carried out research projects and tackled key problems, made a series of technical achievements in researching the pelletizing process and technology, created remarkable economic and social benefits, and made outstanding contributions to promoting the green and low-carbon development of Shougang’s steel industry. The energy consumption and pollutant discharge of the pelletizing process are far lower than those of the sintering process, so developing pelletizing technology is of great significance for the green development of the iron and steel industry. Qinggele Jirigele has led the Pelletizing Research Team to deal with black and dirty iron ore powder every day, and carried out countless experimental studies in all weathers. Reducing the silicon dioxide content of pellets is beneficial for reducing the amount of blast furnace slag and fuel consumption. However, there is little practical experience in the production of ultra-low-silicon pellets at home and abroad, so the project’s R&D team encountered many obstacles in the early stages of tackling key problems. Since a solution could not then be found, everyone was extremely anxious and never stopped conducting experimental studies and analyses in almost every free day. After hundreds of experimental studies and repeated explorations, the project’s R&D team finally developed high-iron and low-silicon alkaline pellets with an iron grade of over 66% and silicon dioxide content of 2.0%, and the comprehensive index of the pellets reached the international advanced level.

No pain, no gain. For many years, Qinggele Jirigele has led the Pelletizing Research Team to successively develop many new kinds of pellets such as low-silicon magnesium-titanium pellets, low-silicon alkaline pellets, high-titanium pellets, magnesian pellets and so on, and studied and realized the application of rich ore resources in pellets.

The themed activity “Models in State-owned Enterprises: Examples in Beijing” is an important brand activity of the Beijing SASAC System for cultivating and practicing core socialist values. It aims to publicize and establish a group of role models in “respecting morality for goodness and striving for progress”, highlight the role of state-owned enterprises as the main force in the economic and social development of the capital, stimulate the enthusiasm of cadres and workers to actively devote themselves to the reform and development of state-owned enterprises, and promote the high-quality development of state-owned enterprises.

After strict evaluation, the Beijing SASAC confirmed the 2021 list of the ten top figures and 20 excellent figures of “Models in State-owned Enterprises: Examples in Beijing” in five categories: leading models, innovation models, service models, dedicated models and moral models.
