Recently, Beijing Shougang Gitane New Materials Co., Ltd. was successfully rated as a national "Green Factory", which is another honor for the company after winning the honorary titles of National Specialized and Innovative "Little Giant" Enterprise, National High-tech Enterprise, ZGC High-tech Enterprise, High-tech Enterprise Science and Technology Achievement Transformation Demonstration Enterprise, Beijing Enterprise Technology Center and Industry-University-Research Demonstration Enterprise.

In order to accelerate the construction of a manufacturing powerhouse, implement green manufacturing projects and actively build a green manufacturing system, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology put forward the national standard General Rules for Green Factory Evaluation (GB/T36132-2018). This was also the first time that China had formulated and issued relevant standards for green factories. The release of this standard will guide enterprises to create green factories, promote industrial green transformation and upgrading, and realize green development. The Gitane Company has always adhered to the general direction of technological innovation and industrial transformation in the electrothermal alloy industry, and accelerated green transformation and development. It has now become an electrothermal alloy enterprise with important international influence, meeting the general requirements of "intensive factory buildings, harmless raw materials, clean production, waste recycling and low carbonization of energy".

Adhering to the concept of "shouldering corporate social responsibility, practicing the 'dual carbon' goals and promoting green and healthy development", the Gitane Company incorporates sustainable management into its strategic development and operational management. It has repeatedly charged towards its goals and exceeded the energy conservation targets set by the Beijing Municipal Government, resulting in a 10% reduction in energy consumption per RMB 10,000 of output value by 2023. It has actively promoted green electricity procurement and carbon emission compliance, purchasing 6 million kWh of green electricity annually and reducing carbon emissions by 3,600 tons. At the same time, it has deepened and consolidated electricity market-oriented transactions, with the electricity consumption of large industries participating in electricity transactions reaching 27.933 million kWh, accounting for 99.8% of the total electricity consumption. The Gitane Company has focused on deepening the construction of the energy system, built an energy information management platform based on water, electricity and gas, and achieved digital lean management and control. In the past two years, it has been awarded the honorary title of "Beijing Water-saving Enterprise".

In 2023, the Gitane Company passed energy management system certification and realized the information sharing and linkage of total energy consumption, energy consumption intensity and carbon emissions. At the same time, it integrated green procurement throughout the entire process of raw material, product and service procurement, and carried out the green partner certification, selection and management of suppliers in such aspects as energy conservation and emission reduction, promoting suppliers to continuously improve their green development level and jointly build a green supply chain.

In terms of its own green project construction, the Gitane Company has achieved the full coverage of distributed photovoltaic panels on the roof of its factory building and built a photovoltaic power station with a success rate of 2,596.95 kW and annual power generation of 1.7 million kWh, saving more than RMB 1 million in electricity charges.
