Beijing Shougang Cold-rolled Sheet Co. Ltd. has been listed as one of the first green manufacturers in Beijing published, by Beijing Commission of Economy and Information Technology.

According to the notice issued by Beijing Commission of Economy and Information Technology, the publication of the list of green manufacturers in Beijing is to promote the construction of green manufacturing system in Beijing, to build advanced models of green manufacturing and to play a leading role in demonstration, which is confirmed after the self-evaluation of the reporting unit, the evaluation of the third-party evaluation institution, the expert evaluation and demonstration organized by the Commission of Economy and Information Technology, publicity and so on according to the requirements and procedures of "Beijing Green Manufacturing Implementation Plan" and "Notice on the Declaration of the Demonstration List of Beijing Green Manufacturing System Construction in 2018”.

Shougang Cold-rolled Sheet Company has actively carried out their green production work, a water-saving plant and environmentally friendly advanced unit in Beijing. In January 2018, the 8.3-megawatt rooftop distributed the photovoltaic project jointly built by the Shougang Cold-rolled Sheet Company, and the China Clean Energy was officially put into operation where they became the largest single distributed photovoltaic power generation project in Beijing: producing about 8.2 million kilowatt hours of clean and reliable quality pv “green electricity” produced per year, playing an important demonstration role. At the same time, Shougang Cold-rolled Sheet Company has actively constructed garden-style plants, with a greening area of about 253,400 square meters, accounting 34.7% of the total area. In 2014, it was appraised as "capital greening and landscaping garden unit" by the Capital Greening Committee of Beijing municipal government. 

From the application conditions of green manufacturing this time, green plants should meet a number of harsh conditions, including the active implementation of the green development concept, boast a certain green manufacturing foundation, strong industry representation, strong influence in the industry, strong business strength, and so on. The application direction includes the application of green low-carbon technology to build and transform the plant, the intensive use of the plant; optimization of the energy structure of the plant, adoption of advanced energy-saving technologies and equipment, improvement of the proportion of clean and renewable energy used, construction of photovoltaic power stations, smart micro grid and energy management center in the plant, promotion of resources and energy environment digitization, intelligent management system, and so on. The list of the green manufacturers, first published by Beijing Commission of Economy and Information Technology, includes fourteen green factories as well as the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area in Yizhuang. The fourteen green plants are from industries such as electronics, building materials, steel, automobile, furniture, food, chemicals, and pharmacy. The selected enterprises will be awarded a certain amount of financial funds.
