July 15 is the World Youth skills Day established by the United Nations. On that day, the opening ceremony of the China Technician Education Photo Exhibition and July 15 World Youth Skills Day Theme Activity was held in Shougang with Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security Tang Tao, Deputy Secretary-General of the Beijing Municipal People’s Government Chen Bei, Deputy Director of the Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security Wang Mingshan, heads of Shougang Group He Wei and Hu Xiongguang and others attended.

On December 18, 2014, the 69th United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution that July 15r was designated as the “World Youth Skills Day”. This year, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, together with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Commerce, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, and other departments organized the World Youth Skills Day Propaganda with the theme of “new era, new skills and new dreams” throughout the country.

Tang Tao pointed out that the organization of the World Youth Skills Day activity was to vigorously carry forward the era style of “glorious labor, valuable skills and great creations” and guide the vast youth to learn skills, obtain skills, and embark on the path of skill growth and talents by skills. The personnel and social departments at all levels should take the development of the technician education as an important way to train young skilled personnel, take the cultivation of the contingent of young skilled personnel as the key content of building up the army of knowledge-based, skilled, and innovative workers, and a key link in promoting the optimization of employment structure, strengthening economic transformation and upgrading, and doing relevant work earnestly.

At the launch ceremony, the theme video on the development course of Chinese technician education was broadcast, and the Award-winning list of the 2018 Skill Eagle Scholarship was announced and presented to the award-winning delegates. Hu Ping, a student of Beijing Industry and Trade Technicians College, Liu Qiaoxia, a principal senior lecturer of Xingtai College of Technicians and Duan Hongtao, President of Shougang Technician College delivered speeches on behalf of technician college students, teachers and presidents respectively. After the launch ceremony, the participants visited the China Technician Education Photo Exhibition and the Beijing Vocational Skills Public Training Base.
