Over 100 Shougang Invention Patents and Innovation Projects Receive Support from Beijing Municipality

The results of the 2024 Employee Innovation Support Program organized by the Beijing Federation of Trade Unions were recently announced. Seven innovation projects from Shougang Group were selected for the 2024 Employee Innovation Project Support, and 176 invention patents garnered support through the 2024 Employee Innovation Invention Patent Program. These figures account for 12.9% and 16.7% of the city's total selected projects and patents, respectively. Collectively, the supported projects and patents received RMB 831,000 in funding.

To encourage innovation, the Beijing Federation of Trade Unions provides financial backing for projects undertaken by employee innovation studios and for service invention patents granted to frontline employees. These studios are encouraged to engage in various forms of technological innovation activities focused on solving technical challenges in frontline production through technological upgrades, problem-solving initiatives, and technical exchanges aimed at resolving these challenges. The program also aims to stimulate on-the-job innovation among all employees. The Beijing Federation of Trade Unions provides financial support for innovation projects carried out by these studios, as well as for frontline employees who have been granted service invention patents. Following a rigorous process of project application, professional evaluation, and public announcement, the Beijing Federation of Trade Unions has provided support in 2024 for a citywide total of 54 innovation projects and 1,048 invention patents. Each innovation project was allocated between RMB 30,000 to RMB 100,000 in funding, while each supported invention patent received RMB 3,000. The funding is jointly covered by the Beijing Federation of Trade Unions and the Trade Union of Shougang Group based on a pre-defined cost-sharing ratio.

Seven innovation projects received support from the Beijing Federation of Trade Unions' 2024 Employee Innovation Project Support Program. These include: Development of Nickel-Based High-Temperature Alloy Welding Material for Heavy-Duty Gas Turbines and the Development of High-Strength Non-Magnetic Stainless Steel Rods for High-Performance Motors by Beijing Beiye Functional Materials Co. Ltd.; Research and Application of Automatic Control System for Track-Mounted Top-Loading Stations, Safety Risk Monitoring, Control, and Early Warning Platform, Research and Application of Remote-Controlled Boom Gate System for Transportation Crossings, and Research on Low-Carbon, Safe, and Efficient Full-Life-Cycle Mining Technology for Caving Method Operations by Shougang Mining; and the Research and Application of Efficient Tandem Rolling Technology for High-Grade Electrical Steel for New Energy Applications by Beijing Shougang Co., Ltd.

A total of 176 patents from Shougang Group received support from the Beijing Federation of Trade Unions' 2024 Employee Innovation Invention Patent Program, including Ni-Cr-W-based Alloy and Preparation Method Thereof by Li Huiwei from Beijing Beiye Functional Materials Co., Ltd., Batching Control Method and Device for Ore Heap by Yan Longfei from Beijing Shougang Automation Information Technology Co., Ltd., Control Method and Device for Strip Plate and Strip Head of Cold Rolling Processing Line by Cui Kailun from Beijing Shougang Cold Rolling Co. Ltd., Tundish Car Control Method, Device, Equipment and Storage Medium by Ji Yongzhi from Beijing Shougang Co. Ltd., An Energy-Saving Prefabricated Building Wall by Qi Weizhong from Beijing Shougang Construction Group Co., Ltd., Environment-friendly Gas Phase Corrosion Inhibitor and Gas Phase Rust-Proof Material by Zhao Mingming from Beijing Shouronghui Science and Technology Development Co., Ltd., In conjunction with the Method for More Cross Substitution Amplifications and Gold Nano Detection Streptococcus Pneumonia by Yan Linlin from Peking University Shougang Hospital, SCR Denitration Ammonia Injection Control Method, Device, Equipment and Medium by Li Xinyang from Shougang Jingtang United Iron & Steel Co., Ltd., Continuous Rolling Method of Non-Oriented Silicon Steel by Hao Pengfei from Shougang Zhixin Qian'an Electromagnetic Material Co., Ltd., and Cr Target XRD Method to Test the P Ratio of Continuous Stripping Phosphating Film by Cai Ning from Shougang Group.

In recent years, the Shougang Group Trade Union has placed great emphasis on employee innovation, actively building platforms to support innovation, fostering a culture of creativity among staff, organizing training workshops for employee innovation studios, and carrying out initiatives to support these studios, innovative projects, invention patents, mentorship programs, and career development for employees. The Trade Union has also facilitated participation in prestigious national events such as the National Invention Exhibition, the National Innovation Achievements Exhibition for Employees in the Machinery, Metallurgy, and Building Materials Industries, and the Beijing Employee Innovation Achievements Display and Exchange. These multifaceted efforts aim to inspire workers to heighten their awareness of innovation, cultivate creative thinking, unleash their innovative potential, and actively engage in innovative practices. The overarching goal is to develop a skilled, knowledgeable, and innovative workforce that drives Shougang's high-quality development.
