Shougang Urban Transport's Intelligent Mobile Charging Vehicles Powers Up NEVs on Highways During the 2025 Spring Festival

Release Time:2025-02-28

During the 2025 Spring Festival (Year of the Snake), to alleviate the "range anxiety" frequently experienced by new energy vehicle (NEV) drivers on highways, Shougang Urban Transport Holding Co., Ltd. deployed multiple "Ganghaochong" intelligent mobile charging vehicles at several highway service areas around Beijing. This initiative provided robust support for NEVs traveling on highways during the busy holiday season, drawing high praise from both transportation authorities and NEV users.

Throughout the Spring Festival period, Shougang Urban Transport deployed a total of 10 "Ganghaochong" intelligent mobile charging vehicles across key locations. These included the Baoding Service Area and Gaocheng North Service Area on the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway, the Quyang Parking Area on the Beijing-Kunming Expressway, the Baiyangdian Service Area on the Tianjin-Shijiazhuang Expressway, and the Hengshui Service Area on the Daqing-Guangzhou Expressway. These vehicles provided energy replenishment services for NEVs on the move. Official data shows that intelligent mobile charging vehicles deployed at these highway service areas during the Spring Festival provided on-demand mobile charging services for 242 New Energy Vehicles (NEVs).

The deployment of "Ganghaochong" intelligent mobile charging vehicles in highway service areas has not only enhanced the convenience of charging services but has also garnered widespread recognition within the industry. During the Spring Festival travel rush, a report in the People's Daily highlighted the charging coordination planning for the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway, noting that mobile charging vehicles at the Baoding Service Area could provide timely support for New Energy Vehicle (NEV) charging during peak traffic hours. The official account of the Department of Transportation of Hebei Province simultaneously published this article, highlighting that mobile charging facilities could efficiently utilize charging resources to fully support NVEs' trips during the Spring Festival travel rush. Additionally, a report by the Hebei Transportation Investment Group on strengthening service guarantees during the Spring Festival travel rush also mentioned relevant services, including the deployment of intelligent mobile charging vehicles on the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway. These mobile charging solutions were implemented to promptly address potential issues, such as a shortage of charging stations and long queues for electric vehicle (EV) charging, facilitating low-carbon travel for a vast number of New Energy Vehicle (NEV) owners. Furthermore, the head of new energy initiatives at Hebei Lufa Industry Group, a subsidiary of Hebei Transportation Investment Group, reportedly offered high praise and affirmation for this innovative service. This feedback demonstrates the successful application of intelligent mobile charging vehicles in the market while also further highlighting their significant position and promising development prospects within the industry.

A NEV owner from Beijing commented, "I was worried that the charging facilities at highway service areas during the Spring Festival might not meet demands. However, the arrival of these intelligent mobile charging vehicles completely dispelled my concerns. The charging speed is fast, and the payment process is incredibly convenient." Another user who embarked on a long-distance self-driving tour during the Spring Festival holiday added, "The wait times for charging at highway service areas during the holiday were just too long. Having these mobile charging vehicles available has made things so much easier!" Chang Yilong, head of the intelligent mobile charging vehicles at Shougang Urban Transport, stated, "As these are our own self-developed and designed mobile charging vehicles, their deployment at highway service areas during the Spring Festival effectively alleviated the pressure of long charging queues. We will continue to optimize and upgrade our products, increase R&D investment, and strive through continuous innovation to provide safer, more convenient, and efficient charging services for a growing number of EV owners through continuous innovation."
