Recently, the Industry and Information Technology Department of Hebei Province announced the list of "Digital Pioneer" enterprises in the steel industry for 2023. A total of two entities were honored, and Shougang Jingtang Steel made it onto the list.

In recent years, in line with the general requirements outlined in the Notice on Accelerating the Digital Transformation of State-Owned Enterprises issued by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC), Shougang Jingtang has implemented the strategic deployment of Shougang Group for high-quality development. It has focused on cultivating and developing new quality productive forces in the steel industry, thus promoting the company's high-quality development.  By leveraging digital technologies such as 5G and big data, Shougang Jingtang has infused traditional equipment with new vitality and competitiveness, accelerated the intelligent transformation of equipment, built intelligent production lines, consolidated the foundation for new quality productive forces, and innovated operational models. Driven by data elements, the company is deepening intelligent operations, unlocking intelligent decision-making capabilities, and empowering the digital transformation of enterprises. It continues to forge a new integrated business management and control model that spans multiple disciplines and processes, while advancing lean production across all processes and refined management of all business operations.  A series of demonstrative and landmark achievements have been implemented, including industrial robots, smart factories, big data application platforms, and 5G application explorations. The company has also accomplished the industry's first deployment of a lightweight core network, enabling the shared use of 5G commercial and private networks. Shougang Jingtang has participated in the formulation of 5G and other relevant standards for the steel industry and carried out the substitution of repetitive tasks, focusing on "3D" jobs (Dangerous, Dusty, and Duplicate). A total of 116 sets of intelligent robots have been constructed, and 40 intelligent application scenarios, such as intelligent scheduling, have been established successively. For the first time in the industry, the company has achieved full-quantity, whole-process, and dynamic precise tracking as well as information closure for equipment, personnel, vehicles, and cargo information, realizing integrated intelligent scheduling of logistics and refined management of the entire process. As a result, the overall logistics efficiency has been improved by 15.2%. Based on the industrial Internet platform, Shougang Jingtang is gradually advancing the construction of smart factories, constructing intelligent production lines for MCCR (Multi-mode Continuous Casting and Rolling), medium and heavy plate, and double cold reduction. The process of digital transformation is continuously accelerating.

The 2023 "Digital Pioneer" Enterprise Selection was organized by the Industry and Information Technology Department of Hebei Province. The initiative aims to highlight the pivotal role of data elements across the entire production process, the entire business chain, upstream-downstream industry collaboration, energy conservation and emission reduction, and low-carbon environmental protection in steel enterprises. By comprehensively considering the application of new technologies such as artificial intelligence, 5G, cloud computing, and the industrial Internet in steel enterprises, the selection aims to identify a group of steel enterprises with extensive digital transformation coverage, high construction levels, and strong innovation capabilities. This will strengthen the demonstrative and leading role of digital transformation in the steel industry, driving product innovation, mode innovation, and service innovation through digital construction, and promoting an overall improvement in the digital and intelligent levels of the industry.
