Shougang Jingtang Receives EcoVadis Silver Medal Certification

Shougang Jingtang has earned the EcoVadis "Silver Medal" certification badge in the 2024 EcoVadis Sustainability Rating, ranking among the top 8% of over 140,000 companies worldwide across all industries worldwide. It also achieved the No. 1 position among L-type (large-scale) enterprises in China's steel industry, demonstrating its industry-leading sustainability performance.

In 2024, Shougang Jingtang made significant strides in corporate social responsibility (CSR). Led by the Jingtang Digital Intelligence Operations Department, the company established a social responsibility management system and published its Social Responsibility Work Management System. The department summarized over 200 material topics and focused on improving management weaknesses categorized as "medium and high risk." Through the concerted efforts of professionals from various departments, including the Party and Mass Work Department, Manufacturing Department, Human Resources Department, Energy and Environment Department, and Safety Management Department, the company's comprehensive efforts culminated in Silver-level certification from EcoVadis.

Shougang Jingtang adheres to the management philosophy of "customer first, green and low-carbon, safety and health, precision and efficiency, continuous improvement, and innovative development." It deepens, refines, optimizes, and strengthens its social responsibility management efforts, continuously improving its social responsibility management system and striving to be a leader in sustainable development within the industry. The receipt of the "Silver" certification this time is a recognition of Shougang Jingtang's social responsibility work and will further motivate the improvement of its professional endeavors.

EcoVadis is the world's largest provider of corporate social responsibility (CSR) ratings, evaluating the economic, environmental, and social performance of global suppliers. Its audit and evaluation methodology is based on multiple international sustainability standards, including the ISO 26000 Social Responsibility Standard, the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Guidelines, International Labour Organization (ILO) Conventions, and the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact. EcoVadis assessments span over 220 industries and 180 countries, with evaluation criteria across four key areas: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. These criteria aim to assess a company's environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance on a global scale. Achieving certification through EcoVadis gives companies a globally recognized "passport" for social responsibility management, validating their ESG performance on the international stage.
