Shougang Automation Information Technology Shares Insights of Steel Industry – Application and Practice of Integrated Pre-Ironmaking System Draw Atten

Recently, the 29th National Automation Application Technology Academic Exchange Conference (CAAC2024), together with the 2024 National Conference on Electrical and Automation, Intelligence, and Informatization of the Nonferrous Metal Industry, and the 6th Metallurgical Artificial Intelligence Forum, was held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. Shougang Automation Information Technology Co., Ltd. made a report entitled "Application and Practice of the Intelligent Integrated Pre-ironmaking System in the Steel Industry" which was keenly received among experts and guests.

The responsible person of the Product R&D Department under the Information Technology Division of Shougang Automation Information Technology Co., Ltd. elaborated upon the core functions and applications of the company's integrated pre-ironmaking system based on the Shougang Group's industrial Internet platform, and demonstrated various measures of the system to enable the digital transformation of the steel industry. By focusing on the blast furnace and paying close attention to raw material control, the integrated pre-ironmaking system enables the fine-tuned and integrated dynamic control of pre-ironmaking processes through the planned, closed-loop, and full-process tracking and quality tracing of each batch, thereby achieving a life-cycle tracking and management model for pre-ironmaking materials. It has also developed an integrated batching model and blast furnace evaluation model, opening up a new path for intelligent and digital pre-ironmaking management. At present, this system has been applied to several large projects, including the coke oven refurbishment project of JISCO, the pelletizing digitalization project of Cangzhou Xinxing, and the pre-ironmaking integration project of Shougang Qiangang. Through the development of this system, we have enabled the integrated management of pre-ironmaking planning and actual performance. Our measures involve equipping the system with the integrated batching model to adjust the composition of different materials and effectively reduce production costs; monitoring functions for production processes such as sintering and blast furnaces for the timely warning of abnormal situations, effectively mitigating the impact of production fluctuations; and daily cost accounting for the timely analysis of cost fluctuations and guidance in production regulation. It is also equipped with a data benchmarking model for the benchmarking and ranking of indicators such as cost and unit consumption for major steel companies, further improving the pre-ironmaking process and laying the groundwork for the creation of new production forces in ironmaking.
