Recently, the “CHN Energy Sharing” platform, the world’s first floating “wind power, photovoltaic power and fish farming” integration project, which was supplied by Shougang Medium Plate, was successfully installed, filling an industry gap in the global floating offshore wind power field and leading China’s wind power development into the deep and distant sea.

Mainly composed of “floating wind turbines + culture net cages”, the “CHN Energy Sharing” platform represents the innovative integration of clean power generation and fish farming. According to the requirements of the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS), products such as ship plates and steel for ocean engineering can only be sold after obtaining approval for type tests from the corresponding national classification societies. The Shougang Jingtang Manufacturing Department worked closely with the Technology Center, Medium Plate Division, Rolling Operation Department, Quality Inspection Supervision Department, Shougang Marketing Center and other units to develop new products in a timely manner according to market demand. It took 6 months to break through the technical bottlenecks and solve the problem of impact stability control for extra-thick plates at -60℃. The F-class high-strength ship plates successfully passed the certification of the ABS, CCS and DNV classification societies.

With high strength, high toughness and good lamellar tear resistance and welding performance, the F-class high-strength ship plates are mainly used at the bottom flange connections of the wind power set of this platform project. As the main connecting structure between the foundation pile and tower, its plays a decisive role in the safety of the wind power tower and whole floating platform. The products supplied this time were mainly high-strength ship plates certified by the DNV Classification Society, of which the 60–80 mm F-class high-strength ship plates were the first to be supplied by Shougang.

Shougang Jingtang made full use of its production, marketing and research platform, and efficient collaboration with its production, marketing and research teams, to provide customers with “one-stop” services including product quality, delivery time, usability and after-sales services. The Shougang Marketing Center actively participated in bidding for shipbuilding industry projects at home and abroad. The Shougang Jingtang Manufacturing Department and the Technology Center comprehensively expanded the development and certification channels of new ship plate products. The Medium Plate Division fully promoted technical transformation and upgrading, adjusted the heating process parameters of billets and optimized the high-precision shape control model of the rolling mill. Through efficient cooperation between various specialties, the strength, low-temperature impact, welding and other properties of the products met the customers’ requirements and won their recognition.

In recent years, Shougang’s medium ship plates have been applied to key projects such as “Jinghai 001”, the largest deep-sea intelligent net cage in Asia, “Zhizhen” and “Zhicheng”, the first offshore wind power operation and maintenance mother ships in Asia, and “Tiankun”, the largest heavy-duty self-propelled cutter suction ship in Asia. This smooth supply has greatly improved Shougang Jingtang’s ability to accept orders for ship plate products, and its market competitiveness has reached a new level.
