Recently, at the 2023 Nanjing Summit of Chinese and Foreign Corporate Culture, a notice of commendation was circulated for Shougang’s achievements in corporate culture construction, which fully affirmed and commended Shougang’s practical experience in corporate culture construction over the past decade in the new era.

In order to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and Xi Jinping’s cultural thought, summarize the experience and practice of China’s corporate culture over the past decade in the new era, firmly establish cultural self-confidence and promote the cultural power and high-quality development of enterprises, based on research and summary, the China Corporate Culture Institute identified the selection criteria for selecting achievements in corporate culture construction over the past decade, namely “distinctive corporate culture, complete corporate culture system, pioneering practical methods and great typical demonstration significance”. The academic expert group believed that Shougang had passed through its first hundred years with great efforts and profound corporate culture construction connotations. It has started a new journey in its second hundred years with fresh and everlasting corporate culture construction. Highlighting the practice of the Shougang spirit, telling the story of Shougang vividly and selecting and commending the stars of Shougang embody the typification and personification of the Shougang spirit with remarkable results that are worthy of widespread reference. It has been selected as a typical experience of China’s corporate culture construction over the past decade in the new era.

The practical achievements of Shougang’s corporate culture construction have been compiled by the China Corporate Culture Institute into the document Construction and Implementation of Selection System of “Shougang Stars” in the New Era and included in the Collection of Corporate Culture Achievements over the Past Decade in the New Era. Adhering to the top-level design, this achievement plans the marching route of corporate cultural activities, namely “keeping up with the new era, constructing the Shougang scenario of practicing social trends, embodying the personification, constructing the practical scenario of carrying forward the Shougang spirit, taking the employees as the protagonists, constructing the preaching scenario of self-education, spreading positive energy and constructing the publicity scenario of the Group’s concerted efforts”. Adhering to overall coordination, Shougang has formed an institutional mechanism of “practicing the essence of culture, establishing the personality shaping system with the Shougang spirit, gathering the source of growth, establishing the story discovery system of Shougang people, cooperating between the upper and lower levels, establishing the story publicity work system of Shougang people, building a platform carrier, establishing the story propagation system of Shougang people, creating brand activities and establishing the selection and commendation system of Shougang stars”. It adheres to the principle of effectiveness, takes vigorously inheriting and carrying forward the Shougang spirit as an effective carrier, strengthens the exploration and practice of the Group’s cultural management and control, increases effective measures for the innovation and vitality of corporate culture construction, and strengthens the innovative practice of enterprise publicity and ideological work. It has become a fertile ground for educating people with culture and cultivating employees to grow into talents, gathering great momentum for accelerating high-quality development.

At the same time, many member units of Shougang were praised at the summit. A total of 16 practical achievements in corporate culture construction, including one achievement each by Beijing Shougang Co., Ltd., Shougang Jingtang, Shougang Shuicheng Iron and Steel, Shougang International, Shougang Engineering and Shougang Construction Investment, two achievements by Shougang Mining Investment and eight achievements by Shougang Mining, were respectively awarded as typical experiences, typical cases and advanced experience of Chinese corporate culture construction over the past decade in the new era.
