Recently, the Guizhou Science and Technology Awards Conference was held in Guiyang. At the conference, the award-winning achievements of science and technology in Guizhou Province in 2022 were announced, and licenses were awarded to the enterprises with the highest increase in R&D investment in Guizhou Province in 2022. The project Research, Development and Application of Key Technologies for Manufacturing High Strength, High Homogeneity and Large Specification Mining Steel Strand Wire Rods completed by Shougang Shuicheng Iron & Steel (Group) Co., Ltd. (Shuicheng Iron & Steel) and Guizhou University won third prize in the Guizhou Science and Technology Progress Awards, and Shuicheng Iron & Steel was named a "Top Ten Enterprise" in the growth of the R&D investment of enterprises in Guizhou Province in 2022.

In recent years, Shuicheng Iron & Steel has adhered to the orientation of "Enterprises in Guizhou and Development in Guizhou" and focused on strengthening the construction of the "Three Innovation Systems", namely an open innovation system with scientific research institutes in universities, Shougang Research Institute of Technology and Shuigang Technology Center; an integrated innovation system focusing on introduction, digestion, absorption and re-innovation, and combining "production, education, research and utilization"; and a service-oriented innovation system that takes user demand as the guide and integrates "production, marketing, research and utilization". The establishment of these three innovation systems has enhanced its independent innovation ability and improved its technical level. Shuicheng Iron & Steel has also increased its R&D investment year after year, continuously enhancing the innovation vitality of its enterprises. At the same time, it insists on ensuring product R&D in terms of talents and incentive mechanism, and continuously promotes the development of new products, new processes and new technologies by setting up technical researcher posts, establishing postdoctoral workstations with Guizhou University, jointly setting up professor and expert workstations with the Beijing University of Science and Technology, implementing the project announcement mechanism, successfully developing a large number of new products with the manufacturing and processing industries as the main users, and forming strategic cooperation relationships with Guizhou Tyre Co., Ltd., Guizhou Wire Rope (Group) Co., Ltd. and Shougang Century Holdings Limited. Shuicheng Iron & Steel has won the honor of "National Brand with Leading Quality in the Steel Industry", three Guizhou Science and Technology Progress Awards, and 132 national patents, and its main products are popularized and applied in major projects such as Pingtang Grand Bridge, Beipanjiang Bridge and the FAST Project.
