On the morning of September 14th, the "Ten Major Events in National Cultural Center Construction in 2022" were released at the 2023 Beijing Cultural Forum, and the first science fiction industry cluster in China landing in Shougang Park made the list.

In order to thoroughly learn and implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, implement the spirits of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important exposition on cultural construction and civilization development, and his series of important speeches in Beijing, show the construction achievements of a national cultural center, exchange experience in cultural construction and help to build a socialist cultural power, the Beijing Leading Group Office for Promoting National Cultural Center Construction, Publicity Department of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee and Xinhuanet jointly launched the selection activity of "Ten Major Events in National Cultural Center Construction in 2022". After public solicitation, online voting and expert appraisal, the "Ten Major Events in National Cultural Center Construction in 2022" were finally selected, among which "The First Science Fiction Industry Cluster in China Appearing as a Whole" in Shougang Park was selected.

In recent years, Shougang Park has focused on the "Four Revitalizations", consciously obeyed and served the functional construction of the "Four Centers" in Beijing, actively integrated into the linkage of the "Five Aspects" and become a new landmark for showcasing the capital's industrial culture, Winter Olympics culture and innovative culture, accelerating its rise as a "Science Fiction City" that relies on industrial relics and the perfect integration of industrial civilization and science fiction culture. The China Science Fiction Convention has been held in Shougang Park three times since it first landed there in 2020. On November 1st, 2020, the first science fiction industry cluster in China was unveiled in Shougang Park. The Shougang Group issued the Implementation Plan for the Science Fiction Industry Cluster in Shougang Park, and Shijingshan District released the "16 Science Fiction Policies" for the Science Fiction Industry Promotion Policy Plan to encourage and promote the development of the science fiction industry cluster. At the 2021 China Science Fiction Conference, the Shougang Group teamed up with 40 enterprises, universities and scientific research institutions to form the first "Science Fiction Industry Consortium" in China. In 2023, the number of science fiction industry consortiums expanded to 54, and the frequency of cooperation among member units on the industrial chain, application scenarios and other aspects significantly increased. The consortium has become an important platform for industry exchange, cooperation and display. On August 21st, 2022, the Zhongguancun Science Fiction Industry Innovation Center was completed and unveiled. Through support on both city and district levels, and the joint construction of enterprises, a one-stop public service and technology service platform was built, and the science and technology service chain of "Research Institute + Incubator + Accelerator + Industrial Cluster" was improved, focusing on incubating and accelerating core technologies in the science fiction industry. In September 2022, the first science fiction industry equity investment fund in China obtained a business license and officially landed in Shijingshan. In 2022, aiming to promote the development of the science fiction industry, the selections of the first Science Fiction Planet Awards and Technology Awards were completed.

The spark of the science fiction industry is spreading rapidly in Shougang Park, and the leading advantage of science fiction industry development is becoming increasingly prominent. Shougang Park is transforming from a "Conference Venue" to an "Industry Cluster", accelerating the agglomeration and development of high-tech enterprises, and striving to build a Shougang Highland at the International Center for Science & Technology Innovation in Beijing. The Science Fiction Industry Cluster is mainly carried by Shougang Park's Industrial Heritage Park, including Jin'an Science Fiction Square and the southern area at the green axis of the Industrial Heritage Park, which covers an area of 71.7 hectares and a building area of nearly 160,000 m2. A number of science fiction industry projects and carriers, such as Jin'an Science Fiction Square, Digital Art Museum, SoReal Metaverse Paradise and Science Fiction Industry Innovation Center, have been built one after another, attracting more than 80 enterprises to settle down. Shougang Park has become an important destination for the development of the Chinese science fiction industry and an important window for displaying science fiction innovation.
