Recently, the Second National Industrial Heritage Summit was held in Jingdezhen City, Jiangxi Province. The Xishi Winter Olympics Square Project transformed from the old industrial area of Shougang won the title “Demonstration Case of Excellent Industrial Heritage Protection and Utilization in the Field of Construction in Industrial Cultural Landmarks”, and was invited as a representative to share the excellent industrial heritage renovation case at the Industrial Heritage Protection and Utilization Forum.

In 2013, the National Development and Reform Commission included the Xishi Silo Renovation Project in the first batch of pilot projects for the relocation and renovation of old industrial zones in China, and it also became the first renovation project in Shougang Beijing Park. Under the guidance of the innovative planning and landscape study of the park, "faithful preservation" and "prudent addition" were adopted in the design to carry out functional transformation and spatial update while respecting the original industrial heritage style and preserving the original technological process. The project presented a combination of static protection and dynamic update, reflecting respect for industrial heritage and the continuation of historical memory, and achieving a win-win situation between industrial heritage protection and transformation utilization. The project set up a model for the Olympic Games to promote the transformation and revitalization of old industrial areas in the city, realized the ingenious combination of industrial heritage and the Olympics, interpreted the Olympic concept of sustainable development and frugality in hosting the Games, and became a model for the Olympic Games promoting the development of the city, a model for the reuse of industrial heritage and revitalization of industrial zones, and a demonstration model for realizing the creative transformation and innovative development of industrial resources and industrial heritage, and achieving good social and economic benefits. 

Shougang Park will focus closely on the strategic positioning of the four centers of Beijing: "science and technology +" to develop high-tech industries such as science fiction, Internet 3.0, artificial intelligence, aerospace, etc.; and "sports +" to share the legacy of the Winter Olympics, organizing corresponding events and activities, cultivate the industrial ecology, realize regional industrial aggregation, promote "cold resources" into a "hot economy" and build the Shougang Highland of the Beijing International Science and Technology Innovation Center. Shougang Park is accelerating the transformation of "factory" to "community" and "neighborhood", continuing to gather popularity and increase traffic flow, realizing better consumption-driven and consumer-driven functions, and focusing on the introduction of first stores, first exhibitions, etc., in order to build Shougang into the fulcrum of an international consumption center in Beijing, promote the high-quality development of the park and accelerate the revival of industry and vitality.

The Second National Industrial Heritage Summit was hosted by the Industrial Culture Development Center of MIIT, Department of Industry and Information Technology of Jiangxi Province, Jingdezhen Municipal People's Government and Shanghai University, with the participation of more than 500 representatives from the competent departments of MIIT of every province and city, industrial heritage project units, industrial museums and universities and scientific research institutions. The collection of Demonstration Cases of Excellent Industrial Heritage Protection and Utilization was divided into four fields: the field of construction in industrial cultural landmarks, the field of the cultural dissemination of industrial museums, the field of industrial cultural education and practice, and the field of industrial tourism innovation and development, and five excellent cases were selected in each field, with a total of 20 projects winning awards.
