Recently, Beijing Shougang Gitane New Materials Co., Ltd.’s Development and Industrialization of High-performance Iron-Chromium-Aluminum Alloy Technology was selected as a “Key Project of the Beijing High-tech Industry Development Fund” and included in the first batch of application awards for key new materials.

Established in 1956, Shougang Gitane is a restructured enterprise under the platform of equity investment companies which leads China in the production of high-end electrothermal alloy materials such as high-voltage transmission double capacity cable conductors for the State Grid, urban clean heating and energy storage materials, heat treatment materials for solar photovoltaic power generation wafers and heat treatment materials for silicon wafers.

In the past, the high-performance electrothermal alloy materials used above 1,300℃ in China were not self-sufficient. Now, the high-performance electrothermal alloy materials independently developed and produced by Gitane can be stably used at an ultra-high temperature of 1,400℃, which broke through the technology bottleneck abroad and realized the upgrading of many processes and technologies such as melting and solidification control technology, cold and hot processing technology, and clean production technology for the whole process, thereby advancing the production and manufacturing level of iron-chromium-aluminum alloy in China. This technological achievement is mainly used in photovoltaic power generation, energy storage, urban clean heating, etc., fully accords with the national goals of "peak carbon and carbon neutrality", effectively promotes energy conservation and carbon reduction, and solves the problems of the bottleneck, high price and delayed supply of similar imported electrothermal materials.

In order to promote the industrial transformation and upgrading of Beijing, and promote its industrial structure to become "highly optimized and effective" and achieve "improved quality and efficiency", the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology issued the Implementation Guide for Beijing’s High-grade, High-precision and Advanced Industry Development Funds in 2022, which clarifies that the directions of high-grade, high-precision and advanced financial support are mainly high-end intelligent green development and the stable development of high-grade, high-precision and advanced industries. It is specifically divided into 12 subdivided directions such as awards for "New Intelligence 100" projects and the first batches of application awards for projects in the fields of key new materials and green and low-carbon development. Gitane was fully recognized by the expert group for its excellent scientific and technological innovation ability, and high-quality and stable product performance. Finally, Gitane stood out from among nearly 200 applicants by virtue of its high-performance electrothermal alloy materials, and successfully won the award.
