A few days ago, the Hebei Provincial Department of Science and Technology released the List of Science and Technology Winners of Hebei Province in 2021, and Jingtang’s “Domestic Largest Monomer Low-temperature Multi-effect Seawater Desalination Plant Technology Integration and Optimization” won the third prize of the Hebei Provincial Science and Technology Progress Awards.

At the end of 2019, Jingtang’s domestic low-temperature multi-effect seawater desalination project with a maximum monomer capacity of 35,000 tons/day was completed and put into operation. It was jointly developed by Jingtang and Beijing Shougang International Engineering Technology Co., Ltd., and its design, equipment manufacturing, construction and operation were all independently integrated by Shougang. It adopted a number of innovative technologies, its localization rate exceeded 95% and its economic indicators, technical indicators, localization rate and equipment stability were the best in China.

In this project, the exhaust steam of a large-scale power generation unit is used as the heat source, and a single-effect multi-group heat exchange tube is adopted for the first time in China, which reduces the resistance loss of steam circulation, improves heat exchange efficiency, provides maintenance convenience and fills the technical gap in the design of large-scale evaporators in China. Meanwhile, the self-concentration technology of concentrated brine is adopted for the first time in China, and the salt content of the produced concentrated brine is doubled compared with that of ordinary seawater desalination plants. The concentrated brine has higher commercial and use value, which effectively reduces the cost of seawater desalination, reduces the dependence of steel mills on surface water, sets an example for coastal industrial enterprises to use seawater to produce desalinated water, and contributes to the development of the domestic seawater desalination industry.
