Recently, at the 121st Paris International Invention Exhibition, Shougang Jingtang won gold medals for two inventions, “A Method and System for Co-Production of Electricity, Heat and Water” and “Research and Development and Application of Intelligent Control of Pellets with Unmanned Operation”.

In the invention “A Method and System for the Co-Production of Electricity, Heat and Water” by Wu Liyun, an employee of Shougang Jingtang, hydropower symbiosis technology coupled with thermal seawater desalination and steam turbine generator is provided, the condenser of the steam turbine generator is replaced by a thermal seawater desalination device, and the negative pressure exhaust steam after power generation is used for seawater desalination. The thermal efficiency of the system increases from 30% to 81.5% and the efficient cooperative operation of two large-scale devices is realized for the first time in the world. Gradient energy utilization is realized in the low-temperature multi-effect distillation seawater desalination coupled thermal power generation system, and the low-quality exhaust steam after power generation is used as power for seawater desalination, which improves the heat utilization rate of the whole system, reduces the cost of seawater desalination and saves the investment and operation cost of setting up once-through cooling facilities for the condenser of the generator set.

In the invention “Research, Development and Application of Intelligent Control of Pellets with Unmanned Operation” by Li Ming, an employee of Shougang Jingtang, a number of key technologies are developed and applied in terms of improving the operation efficiency and product quality of the pellet production line. This intelligent pelletizing system realizes the intelligent control of the pelletizing process in industrial production for the first time in China; studies and applies a set of heat balance tests and calculation methods for the belt roaster, and drafts a national standard, providing a basis for optimizing the thermal parameters, improving product quality and reducing energy consumption; innovatively opens up the intelligent control of the feeding system in the whole process and realizes unattended feeding throughout the whole process. After it is implemented, the operation efficiency of the production line will be improved and the product quality will be enhanced.

These two inventions are closely combined with production practices, realizing the high efficiency and intelligence of the system, improving quality and reducing consumption. Shougang Jingtang’s employees have won this gold medal for the first time.

Founded in 1901, the Paris International Invention Exhibition is held once a year. It is sponsored by the French Inventors and Manufacturers Association. The awards have a good reputation and a wide range of influence as part of the Paris International Expo. The expo is large in scale, rich in content, long in duration and wide in influence, with more than 400,000 participants every year.
