On May 30th, on the occasion of the sixth “National Science and Technology Workers Day”, the National Top 100 Science and Technology Innovation Index Report 2022 (Enterprises, Universities and Research Institutions) (referred to as the Report) was released in Beijing; Shougang ranked 157th among the top 500 national science and technology innovation enterprises.

Shougang has made continuous progress in scientific and technological achievements. In 2021, it won 17 provincial and ministerial science and technology awards, including six first prizes, and “Jingtang Low-carbon Clean and Efficient Ironmaking Process and Technology Integration” and “Integration and Innovation of Key Technologies for Manufacturing and Application of High-safety Steel for Body Structure” won first prizes at the Metallurgy and Beijing Science and Technology Awards respectively. Shougang has completed 126 scientific and technological achievements, of which 28 have reached the international advanced level or above, accounting for 22.2%. Shougang has practiced the National Standardization Development Outline, accelerated the standardization layout in the fields of intelligent manufacturing and “dual carbon”, and revised six international standards and 39 national, industry and group standards, as well as applying for 741 invention patents and obtaining 409 invention patents throughout the year.

Leading technology has become the core competitiveness of Shougang. Shougang Iron and Steel Industry aims at world-class goals, strives to deepen the five advantages of “product, quality, cost, service and technology”, continuously adheres to green manufacturing, intelligent manufacturing, boutique manufacturing, lean manufacturing and precise service, and continuously improves the comprehensive competitiveness of “manufacturing + service”. At present, it has formed ten high-end product series such as automobile plates, electrical steel and tinplate, and achieved the launch of many new products in the world and China. Shougang has achieved remarkable results in tackling key problems in major processes and technologies. In 2021, Shougang Jingtang built and successfully operated the first full continuous multi-mode casting and rolling production line in the world, and its operation level continued to improve, breaking through the design capacity, achieving comprehensive production and efficiency, accumulating rich practical experience for the popularization of the third generation of thin slab continuous casting and rolling technology, and contributing to the technological progress and development of the steel industry.

It is reported that the National Top 100 Science and Technology Innovation Index Report 2022 (Enterprises, Universities and Research Institutions) completed by the Bayuegua Innovation Research Institute was released for the fourth consecutive year. The Institute is a global big data platform for scientific and technological innovation which is intelligently open at home and abroad. The Report focuses on innovative subjects such as enterprises, universities and research institutions, follows the principles of scientificity, completeness, comprehensiveness, comparability and orientation, and further moderately adjusts and increases the evaluation dimensions of the innovation index system on the basis of analyzing the previous three innovation index systems.
