Twenty Torchbearers from Shougang Participate in Winter Olympic Torch Relay, and Flame “Feiyang” Illuminates Century-old Shougang Park

At 17:57 on February 2nd in the East Gate Square of Shougang Park, the torch relay for the Beijing Winter Olympics began.

With a length of about 3 km, the torch relay route in Shougang Park started at the East Gate Square, passed through such landmarks as the CIFTIS venues, Shougang Canteen, coke ovens and Chang’an Mills, and ended at the South Square of the No. 3 Blast Furnace, creating an evening exhibition that told the story of the indissoluble bond between century-old Shougang and the Olympic Games.

Shougang Park is home to the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee and Shougang Ski Jump Platform, nurturing China’s Winter Olympic dreams. As an official partner of the Winter Olympics, Shougang focuses on serving and participating in the Winter Olympics, showcasing the achievements of 300 million winter sports participants and reflecting the unique charms of the “Dual Olympic City”.

In the practice of “Keeping the Ice and Snow Appointment to Create a Better Future”, the blazing flame ignited the enthusiasm of the audience. Carrying the Olympic torch is not only an honor but a mission. Shougang’s Olympic torchbearers had a gleam of excitement in their eyes. 

A total of 20 torchbearers from Shougang took part in the Winter Olympic torch relay in Shougang Park, including Jin Hongli, Niu Xuhong, Guo Yuming, Gao Zhan, Zhu Qijian, Cui Fengling, Qiu Junqing, Chen Kexin and Liu Boqiang. On the morning of February 2nd, Liu Hong, Wang Wenhua, Qinggele Jirigele, Xu Fengjuan, Zhu Zhenzhong and Rong Yanming took part in the torch relay in the Olympic Forest Park. On February 3rd and 4th, Wen Xinli, Ma Zhu, Yang Peng, Lyu Chunlong and Han Dawei took part in the torch relay in the Summer Palace, Yanqing and Zhangjiakou respectively.
