​Shougang Mining Wins Awards for Seven Achievements

Recently, the 36th National Symposium on Human Resources Management of Metallurgical Mining Enterprises and the Annual Meeting of the Mining Group were held in Hefei, Anhui Province. This Annual Meeting was sponsored by the Mining Group of the Metallurgy Branch of the China Association of Labour Science, undertaken by the China Minmetals Corporation and participated in by major state-owned mining enterprises. Shougang Mining won awards for seven selected papers on human resources management (HRM) achievements, including the first prize for the three papers Exploration and Practice of Promoting Total Factor Labor Efficiency by Tapping Manpower Potential, Innovation and Practice of Efficient Labor Organization, and Discussion on Exploration and Practice of Constructing a Group Performance Indicator Benchmarking System to Stimulate Group Endogenous Impetus, ranking first in number and quality, and winning the Excellent Paper Quality Award and Excellent Organization Award. At the meeting, Shougang Mining shared its experience under the title Exploration and Practice of Tapping the Potential of Total Factor Manpower to Promote the Improvement of Labor Efficiency.

In the course of decades of development, Shougang Mining has constantly summarized its practical HRM experience, identified its own gaps based on benchmarking and continuously enriched its HRM connotations. To enhance the supporting role of HRM in enterprise development, it underwent the primary stage of personnel management and intermediate stage of human resource cost management, and developed into the advanced stage of taking human resources as capital, implementing strategic HRM and constructing a “1+1+3+5” strategic HRM system.

At the meeting themed on the implementation of benchmarking world-class management improvement actions by SASAC of the State Council, enterprises held an in-depth exchange of successful experience in HRM and focused on their own outstanding issues in order to further strengthen their management systems and management capacity construction, rectify their shortcomings and weaknesses as soon as possible, and improve their HRM ability and level in a comprehensive manner.
