On October 26th, the 100-day countdown to the opening of the Beijing Winter Olympics, the SGCC Winter Olympics Power Guarantee Service Center officially opened in Shougang Park. This historic moment was witnessed by Liu Yumin, Director of Planning and Construction of the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee, Yan Cheng, Manager of Human Resources, Pang Xiaogang, Deputy General Manager of the State Grid Corporation of China, Zhang Gongyan, Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of the Shougang Group, Liang Jie, Standing Committee Member and Deputy General Manager of the Shougang Group, and the leaders of related departments. Yan Cheng, Pang Xiaogang and Zhang Gongyan jointly unveiled the official opening of the SGCC Winter Olympics Power Guarantee Service Center. 

The Beijing Winter Olympics Power Operation Support Command Platform, developed collaboratively by the State Grid Corporation of China and implemented by State Grid Beijing Electric Power, was put into operation simultaneously, realizing the digital and intelligent panoramic monitoring of the power business field for the first time in Olympic history, and fully supporting the power supply guarantee of the Winter Olympics’ test events and official competition.

As an important hub of the SGCC Winter Olympics Power Guarantee Command, the Winter Olympics Power Guarantee Service Center independently developed the “Smart Brain” Beijing Winter Olympics Power Operation Support Command Platform. This platform can realize the real-time monitoring and unified regulation of power operation for 25 venues in three divisions in Beijing and Zhangjiakou during the Winter Olympics, guide the venue power teams to carry out patrol duty and emergency response, and ensure the smooth development of power supply support for Winter Olympics venues.

On behalf of the Winter Olympics Organizing Committee, Liu Yumin expressed his heartfelt thanks to the SGCC, Shougang Group and comrades working hard at the front line, and expressed his hope that all parties will spare no efforts to ensure the successful completion of the power guarantee tasks for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

Pang Xiaogang said that SGCC, under the care and guidance of the Winter Olympics Organizing Committee, has made smooth progress in the power guarantee tasks. The Shougang Group and State Grid Beijing Electric Power worked closely together to complete the construction and renovation of the Winter Olympics Power Guarantee Service Center in just six months. He added that all units of SGCC will make concerted efforts and go all out to complete the power supply guarantee for the Winter Olympics.

Liang Jie said that he will continue to work closely with the Winter Olympic Organizing Committee and State Grid Beijing Electric Power to weather the storms and promote development with one heart, thereby ensuring the successful realization of all power guarantee tasks and objectives for the Winter Olympics.

The participating leaders visited the SGCC Winter Olympics Image Exhibition Hall and Power Operation Center, watched the video on the construction of the Winter Olympics Power Operation Center building, and listened to the report of the State Grid Marketing Department on the construction of the Power Operation Center and Guarantee Service Center; and in short videos, the general headquarters of State Grid Beijing Electric Power and State Grid Jibei Electric Power briefly reported on preparations for the guarantee test events.
