On March 17th, 50 envoys and senior diplomats from more than 20 countries including Russia, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Austria, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia and Malaysia visited the Shougang Ski Jump Platform in Shougang Park. They were accompanied by Zhai Jun, Special Envoy of the Chinese Government on Middle East Issues, Han Zirong, full-time Vice Chairman and Secretary General of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, Hong Lei, Director General of the Protocol Department, Li Anrong, Deputy Director General of the Protocol Department, Zhou Xisong, Deputy Head of Shijingshan District, and Liang Zongping, leader of the Shougang Group.

There are many beautiful sights in Shougang Park: Shijingshan Mountain and Qunming Lake complement each other; the cooling towers stand tall and the mountain peaks reflect in the water. Striking industrial remains are scattered around, such as the Shougang Ski Jump Platform, “Four Ices” in the Winter Olympics Training Center and Xishi Winter Olympics Square, a picture of historical precipitation which matches perfectly with modern light and shadow, merging industry and art before our eyes. The envoys and senior diplomats visited High Line Park and the Shougang Ski Jump Platform, learned more about the planning and layout of Shougang Park and the platform, as well as the Shangri-La Hotel Construction and Renovation Project, and praised the graceful surroundings of Shougang Park and the excellent renovation of industrial heritage sites.
