Recently, we learned from the Chinese Hospital President's Forum on Improving Medical Services titled "We Are in Action, We Share" jointly sponsored by the Medical Administration and Administration Bureau of the National Health Commission, people.cn and the Health Commission of Sichuan Province, that Peking University Shougang Hospital won the "2020 National Best Demonstration Case for Improving Medical Services" award.

It is reported that the Forum commended and awarded advanced units and individuals for improving medical services over the past year. Relevant leaders of the Medical Administration and Administration Bureau of the National Health Commission and people.cn, and representatives and experts from the national provincial health system and public hospitals conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges around the theme of "improving the quality of medical services". At the Forum, Beijing University Shougang Hospital, with its innovative measures and active explorations into improving medical services, stood out from more than 2,000 cases nationwide and was awarded the "National Best Demonstration Case for Improving Medical Service" award.

Since 2020, as a pilot unit of the National and Beijing Medical Treatment Alliance, Peking University Shougang Hospital has given full play to the professional and technical advantages of tertiary hospitals and the leading role of regional medical centers, implemented a series of innovative measures such as expert sinking, discipline sinking and management sinking, and effectively improved the services of primary medical and health institutions while solving the problem of residents' difficulty in getting medical services. This series of measures has not only played an important role in COVID-19 prevention and control, but also facilitated information interchange, resource sharing, the upward/downward mobility of doctors, and two-way referral of patients in the Medical Treatment Alliance.

COVID-19 has brought many practices and experiences to the health system, and brought new thinking to future health care reform. Peking University Shougang Hospital will realistically and with a long term view, and in accordance with the deployment requirements of the superior health commissions (Peking University Health Science Center and Shougang Group), thoroughly map out the work of the hospital in 2021 and the 14th Five-Year Plan period, scientifically and accurately prevent and control the epidemic, earnestly implement national health care reform policy, continuously improve the quality of medical services, and accelerate the construction of the Medical Treatment Alliance, so as to protect the health of the masses.
