Sino-Finnish Creative Symphony Music Flash Event Held in Shougang Park

On November 30th, to welcome the 70th anniversary of New China’s participation in the Olympic Games for the first time and the 1952 Helsinki Olympic Games in Finland, and express the good wishes of China and Finland in joining hands to welcome the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games and Winter Paralympics, the Finnish Embassy in China, Shijingshan District People’s Government, Finnish Working Group in China and Shougang Group jointly held the creative symphony music flash event “Sports Connecting You and Me, Music Integrating China and Finland” in Shougang Park.
Nearly 100 people gathered together, including musicians from the International Chief Philharmonic Orchestra, Chorus of Shijingshan District Philharmonic Experimental Primary School, Curling Team of Shijingshan District Dianchang Road Primary School, pupils from Shijingshan District Foreign Language Experimental Primary School and Shougang’s staff representatives. During the flash event, choral musicians and students jointly performed the theme song “You and Me” of the opening ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and the well-known Finnish song “Ode to Finland”; the young athletes of the curling team performed in a dry land curling competition; and the pupils completed “snowflake paper-cutting” along with Chinese and Finnish people, expressing their beautiful vision for the successful holding of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games and Winter Paralympics.
He Tianming, News and Culture Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Finland in China, said that important landscapes such as the Ski Jump Platform of Shougang Park are very modern while also reflecting the history of Shougang, creating an interesting combination of different historical and modern architectural styles.
Shougang’s participating employees said that they were honored to take part in this event. The century-old Shougang Park glowed with new vigor and vitality, attracting the attention of the world and contributing to the Beijing Winter Olympic Games, which is the pride of every Shougang person.
It is understood that while the news reports and related videos of this flash event activity will be reported in China, it will also be publicized in mainstream Finnish media such as the Finland Broadcasting Corporation, Helsinki News and “thisisFINLAND”, showing the new style of the industrial transformation of Shougang Park from a former “industrial rust belt” to a “vitality show field”, continuously enhancing the international image of Shougang over the past century, reinforcing its international influence and transmissibility, and helping the functional construction of the Beijing International Exchange Center.
