Recently, the Chinese Society for Metals presided over the organization of the scientific and technological achievement evaluation meeting, named the "New Technology and Equipment for Organic Contaminated Soil Remediation by Microwave", and the project "New Microwave Technology and Equipment for Organic Contaminated Soil Remediation", jointly developed by Shougang Environment and the Xinye High-Tech Group Co., Ltd., and was assessed by the expert committee as "totally reaching an internationally advanced level, among which the engineering application of microwave thermal desorption to treat soil organic pollutants has reached an internationally leading level".

It is known that new technology and equipment for organic contaminated soil remediation by microwave takes full advantage of the benefits of "selective microwave heating" and "penetrating heating" in the process of organic contaminated soil remediation, and solves "high energy consumption, large flue gas volume, large equipment scale" and other deficiencies; in terms of investment scale, treatment costs, environmental protection benefits, etc., it shows great advantages. Relying on new technology and equipment for organic contaminated soil remediation by microwave, Shougang Environment has successfully put an industrial remediation production line into construction with an annual output of 10,000 cubic meters. It has been operating efficiently and smoothly so far. It has remedied 13,000 cubic meters of organic contaminated soil and attracted great attention and recognition from all walks of life.

The members of the expert committee include the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the Chinese Society for Metals, the Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences, the China Iron and Steel Association, the China Coking Industry Association, the University of Science and Technology Beijing, the Environmental Protection Research Institute of Light Industry, the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the MCC Central Research Institute of Building and Construction, and other units. Experts agree that the new technology and equipment is the first large-scale industrial application of microwave technology in the field of organic contaminated soil remediation, and is both low-carbon and green, and offers a wide range of soil re-use after remediation; it can be widely used in steel enterprise land restoration, petrochemical and other industrial wasteland restoration, oil sludge pollution, river silt and leachate and other brownfield treatment. The successful completion of the project will further promote the technological upgrading of the soil remediation industry, which is of revolutionary significance; it fills the gap in the field of microwave soil remediation at home and abroad, and brings new possibilities for the development of the soil remediation industry.
