On May 18, after five months of intense construction and four months of commissioning, the Changzhi Iron and Steel sintering flue gas ultra-low emission project with an investment of nearly 200 million yuan was successfully put into operation, and the flue gas indicators fully met the national ultra-low emission requirements. The project started in August last year, using the "circulating fluidized bed desulfurization + SCR denitrification" process, the SCR denitrification process of which is currently a mature process used in the domestic steel industry, which has not only a good denitrification effect, but also stable equipment operation.

In 2019, in accordance with the relevant provincial and municipal requirements, Changzhi Iron and Steel focused on a series of laws and regulations such as the “Environmental Protection Law”, “Air Pollution Prevention and Control Law”, and “Solid Waste Pollution Prevention and Control Law”, as well as new environmental protection policies, new regulations, and new requirements. With low-emission, high-quality and green development as the starting point, it invested more than 760 million yuan in implementing the upgrading and reconstruction of more than 40 ultra-low emission projects, including the desulfurization and denitrification transformation of the No. 4 and No. 5 sintering machines, the fully enclosed raw material yard, the fully enclosed coal coking yard, the newly built three-time steelmaking dust removal system, and the closed flux rotary kiln raw material yard. It has also vigorously promoted the reduction of pollutants, greatly improved the appearance of the environment, and made positive contributions to the fight against air pollution and the battle to defend the blue sky.
