Recently, the Group has made full use of its advantages in terms of global reach to actively procure prevention and control equipment to meet anti-epidemic needs.

Given the serious nature of the COVID-19 epidemic and the lack of epidemic prevention and control equipment, Shougang’s International Business Department has coordinated and organized a global procurement strategy with overseas sites of Beijing West, Shougang International and CICG, negotiating with more than 90 mask manufacturers in Peru, Mexico, Poland, the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Dubai and other countries and regions. However, because influenza and pneumonia are rampant across the world, there is a global shortage of prevention and control equipment, including masks. Despite these difficulties, the staff of the Group’s overseas sites were finally able to purchase 31,000 masks of different specifications through active communication, organization and coordination. Among them, 10,200 medical masks purchased by Zhongshou Company in cooperation with Shougang Hierro Peru S.A. were handed over to Shougang Hospital, which was in urgent need of medical supplies, effectively alleviating the serious lack of adequate protective equipment for front-line medical workers at that hospital. 21,000 masks additional purchased by Beijing West from Mexico, Poland and other places have been handed over to the administrative management center for unified allocation by the Group.
