Since the outbreak of COVID-19, Shougang Park has actively promoted the construction of major projects within the Shougang Park while doing epidemic prevention and control work. After the resumption of the Shougang Ski Platform Center Project, the Wuyi Theater Milling Workshop Project and the Shougang Ruins Park (Jin’an Bridge Integration) Project have been also restarted construction and production.

One year after the implementation of the three-year action plan for the new Shougang area, Shougang Park started the development and construction of 2.91 square kilometers of land in the Park’s northern area. This is being conducted in accordance with the reduction development requirements of “the northern area supporting itself, the southeast area entering the market, and the southern area maintaining its flexible implementation”. 25 projects developed and built by the Park were included in the Key Projects for the Engineering Construction in the New Shougang Area (2020-2022), including 2 security projects for the Winter Olympics, 1 ecological security project, 3 industrial heritage renovation projects, 9 municipal infrastructure projects, 1 comprehensive environmental renovation and improvement project, 4 industrial transformation and upgrading projects, 2 international talent community construction projects, and 3 vitality appearance improvement projects.

On February 9, according to the arrangement of the municipal Party committee and municipal government, the first batch of workers of the Shougang Ski Platform Center Project were on duty and started work. At present, 317 workers have gone back to work, all of whom are involved in the construction of the main structure, the external facade of which is expected to be finished within the year. The project is located in the Winter Olympics Plaza area, with a construction area of 192,000 square meters. Construction plans include a ski platform, ancillary hotel, R&D center, recreation and entertainment facilities, and so on. Having completed an application for resumption of work and received joint approval as the epidemic continues, the Wuyi Theater Milling Workshop Project and the Shougang Ruins Park (Jin’an Bridge Integration) Project began to push forward with project construction. The main structure is expected to be completed within the year. The Shougang Park’s Ruins Project has completed the filing procedures in accordance with the instructions in “The Approval Model About the Innovation of the Reform and Utilization of Buildings and Structures in the Shougang Park” approved by the municipal government. The Municipal Infrastructure Construction Project (A first-class development of 9 branches in the southeast area) is currently going through various preliminary procedures and making preparations before beginning construction. The New Shougang International Talent Community (focusing on the southern and northern areas), has a construction area reaching 634,000 square meters on the ground, with construction including buildings for a comprehensive commercial and financial service industry, other types of multi-functional buildings, bus station facilities and so on. In order to cooperate with the construction of Line M11 a total of 87,000 square meters of land have been handed over to date.
