On January 3, sponsored by the Beijing Federation of Trade Unions, “Most Beautiful Workers Bring Smile Home” large-scale public welfare event awards and photo launch ceremony and sending warm condolences for “two festivals” of the city sub-center was held in Beijing Investment Group’s sub-center project headquarters “Home of Staff.” Liu Boqiang, an ice maker of Shougang Sports Center was rated the “Most Beautiful Worker in the Capital.” Zheng Mojie, Secretary and Vice President of the Party Leadership Group of Beijing Federation of Trade Unions presented the awards to the winners of the “Most Beautiful Worker in the Capital”, presented the New Year “goodie bag” and gave a speech. The ceremony was presided over by Zhao Lijun, a member and Vice President of the Party Leadership Group of Beijing Federation of Trade Unions. Lin Lin, Vice President of Beijing Federation of Trade Unions was present, together with Shougang Group leader Liang Zongping.

“It is an honor and duty for me to win the most beautiful worker in the capital. In the future work, I will work harder to create a perfect stage for our national team athletes to showcase their skills, so that they can safely, comfortably, and efficiently complete the training tasks, making more achievements and winning more gold medals, for the glory for China at the 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics in Beijing”, said Liu Boqiang upon award of the “Most Beautiful Worker in the Capital”.

Liu Boqiang, who is in his 40s, has worked in Shougang for more than 20 years as a mill roller, maintenance and inspection worker, and welder. In order to serve the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, Liu Boqiang took the initiative to upgrade himself. Through active study and hard training, he has successfully transformed himself from a steel worker into an “ice maker”. Now he is in charge of Shougang Curling Pavilion’s ice-making and track maintenance, directly serving the national team’s training. In this crossover from “fire” to “ice”, he opens a new chapter in his life.

As someone mentioned, it is the key activity for sending warmth for “two festivals” of Beijing Federation of Trade Unions and 10 front-line workers were rated the “Most Beautiful Workers in the Capital”, more than 1,000 workers were given a “smile” photo, recording the wonderful moments of their daily work and participation in the National Day service security work, showing their joy in labor. At the same time, the Beijing Federation of Trade Unions presented the New Year “goodie package” with insulation cups, cold-proof supplies, spring couplets, paper-cut for window decoration and other Spring Festival goodies to more than 10,000 front-line workers participating in the construction of key projects in Beijing.
