Shougang Gas Company is an important supplier of medical oxygen in China. In this battle against COVID-19, its Party Committee proposed to effectively improve the political standing and give priority to timely supply of medical oxygen to the front-line prevention and control, both in quality and quantity, even if it is just a bottle of oxygen. While ensuring the provision of medical oxygen to major hospitals and manufacturers, special manpower and material resources were added to maintain the oxygen generator system of Peking University Shougang Hospital 24-7. During the Spring Festival, more than 500 tons of 22 trucks of medical oxygen were supplied. On January 31, as bottled oxygen were urgently required by Peking University Shougang Hospital, the company sent 20 bottles of oxygen to the hospital first up.

Amidst the epidemic, the Party Committee of Shougang Gas Company acted speedily, deployed closely, formulated prevention and control plans, and paid close attention to implementation. As of press time, it has purchased 3,000 masks, 300 bottles of disinfectant solution, 40 watering cans, and 4 thermometers for employees, and distributed them to all departments and teams.

In front of the roaring motor of oxygen production equipment of Shougang Qian’an Iron and Steel Company at the oxygen production site of Jingtang Company, in the air separation operation room of Shougang Cold Rolling Company, and at the maintenance site of Beiye Company’s equipment ... every employee of the Gas Company dedicates their effort and strives for excellence in performance in each post, all contributing to the combat against the epidemic. At this time, Communist Party members are selflessly devoted to the forefront of prevention and control. They wear protective equipment, take the lead in broadcasting prevention and control knowledge, and take disinfection precaution at various units, taking the initiative to undertake various prevention and control work by making full use of the “party member responsibility area” and “party pioneer post” and other carriers. According to the requirements of the system of party members’ contact with the masses, each party member contacts one or two workers and masses, and assumes the responsibilities of education, knowledge popularization, connection and mutual assistance, and psychological counseling, forming a firewall to fight against COVID-19.
