On December 26, the first phase of harmless disposal project of domestic garbage in main urban area of Changzhi City, the domestic garbage incineration power plant, which was jointly built by Shougang Environment and Shougang Changgang, was successfully ignited for trial operation, marking Shougang Environment Industry Company’s cross-regional replication of Shougang Lujiashan garbage incineration power generation model. 

Harmless disposal project of domestic garbage in main urban area of Changzhi City is the first demonstration project for Shougang Group to maximize overall synergistic advantages and brand effect to develop environmental industry outside Beijing, which has gained traction and strongly supported by the local government. The construction began in August 2018.

To speed up the implementation of the project, Shougang Group set up a project construction leading group headed by the leaders with specific duties of the Group, adhering to the concept of “100% craftsmanship,100% quality project” from design to construction, and promoting standard and ingeniously built fine work.

The plant of harmless disposal project of domestic garbage in main urban area of Changzhi City is in the south of Shougang Changgang Company’s bar workshop in Changzhi suburb, north of G309, about 30 kilometers away from downtown Changzhi City, covering an area of about 100 mu. Using domestic advanced, mature and reliable technology, the companies built the domestic garbage incineration power plant of daily disposal capacity of 1,500 tons and supporting landfill in two phases, with 2 total 27MW turbine generator sets. Among them, the first phase of the project disposes of 1,000 tons of domestic garbage per day, using 2×500 tons per day incineration line, equipped with 18 MW turbine generator set, supporting flue gas purification system and leachate disposal system. The maximum annual generating capacity is 121 million KWH. As a key project in Shanxi Province and Changzhi City and a major project for people’s livelihood, the annual standard coal consumption can be saved by 41,300 tons after it’s put into operation. After deducting the power supply required for the project, the on-grid energy is about 100 million KWH per year, which will turn garbage into treasure, and realize the harmlessness, reduction and resource utilization of domestic garbage disposal, having good economic, social and ecological benefits. In addition, the project can effectively use the steel medium and surplus energy of Changgang Company to serve the city to realize the efficient and recycling of resources.

The successful ignition of this harmless disposal project of domestic garbage in main urban area of Changzhi City is bound to lead to the further promotion of the environmental brand influence of Shougang and Shougang Environment, and bring a broader development space for Shougang Environment to work on the multi-field cooperation of integrated urban environmental services in Changsha City.
