Automobile board is a high-end product in the steel industry. Due to strict regulation on its composition and flawless surface expectation, it is very difficult to produce, reflecting the technology, equipment and management standard of the enterprise. With the vision of "building an outstanding, internationally competitive listed company and becoming a world-class high-end material service provider", the joint stock company insist to position itself as a premium, relying on its technical strength and unremitting effort in quality tackling, it continuously obtains positive evaluation from BMW, Great Wall, Geely and others in the automotive industry, becoming one of the few domestic suppliers capable of mass production of high-end external boards.

In the first half of this year, faced with the problem prone to causing defective longitudinal stripe after stamping, the manufacturing department of the joint stock company, Qianshun technology center and Shunyi cold rolling immediately set up a research taskforce to carry investigation and process troubleshooting. After numerous process tests and setting up the Jintang and Qianshun base production line for allocation comparison experiment, it quickly eliminates hot rolling, acid rolling, roll grinding and other processes from the suspected list of issues, and efficiently arranges and verifies the production. At the same time, Qianshun technology center demonstrated its advantage of having pool of talents and technology, researched a lot of domestic, foreign literature and patent technology, and combining it with the on-site process to develop four major process categories, nine rounds of process exploration, carrying out more than 50 tensile experiments, obtaining experimental data, and finally identifying the root cause. Through process enhancement, the new batch of automobile plate which is shipped out successfully achieves quality verification and meets the user's requirements.

The quality requirements will get better but not the best. The automobile plate production process is lengthy, complex, with high requirements for the surface, multiple influencing factors, hence there are many requirements for process stability and quality management level. The joint stock company holds the idea that quality is embodiment life, establishes a consistent management and control system with customer satisfaction as the key objective, and sets up the quality management concept of continuous improvement of the whole process of outer panel production. With production of automobile outer panel as the pull point, it establishes the operation mechanism with quality as the center and set the position of "authority and referee" of quality management. On the basis of raw and auxiliary materials, equipment management and scientific production scheduling, continuous and seamless management and control shall be adopted for the process flow to achieve clear standards, process matching, operation specifications, and continuous improvement. In the whole process, 200 key production preparation points and 186 key process control points are established. Through quantitative evaluation, the feasibility before production and the controllability during production of automobile outer panel are ensured, and the hit rate of outer panel improved.
