On February 6, Beijing was snowing heavily. Shougang Park was covered with thick snow everywhere. Early in the morning, in the heavy snow, reporters of Shougang News Center went into the park junctions, venues, office areas, and other front lines to be on duty in two groups.

At 9:30 a.m., a reporter arrived at the junction of Liangshui Pool south road north to the park and saw the guard of the Security Office of the Park Management Department on duty in the snow. Guard Xun Jinqiang carefully checked the reporter’s pass. He said that every pass for all vehicles and personnel entering the park must be strictly checked, and the work must be meticulous and thorough.

Coming to Shougang Ski Platform, the entrance guard-on-duty checked the reporter’s passes, tested the temperature, registered information, and verified with the relevant departments of the Park Service Company. Entering the Ski Platform area, the reporter saw some workers were cleaning the thick snow, some were disinfecting premises and garbage bins, while others carrying out inspections. Wen Yu, the Property Manager of the Platform Project of the Park Service Company, said that during this period, they have three main tasks, namely verification, temperature test, and registration by the guards, multiple rounds of disinfection of the indoor office area and the outdoor garbage bins, and inspection of the venue at all times to ensure that epidemic prevention and control work is implemented.

In Xishi Winter Olympics Square, the reporter saw that more than 10 workers who had taken protection measures were clearing the snow for traffic safety. 

Jiang Yan, Deputy Director of Operation Service Department of Shougang Construction Investment Company, said that Shougang Construction Investment Company’s Organization and Operation Service Department, the Shougang Park Sports Center, and the Park Service Company divided works according to responsibilities and comply with high operation standards in access examination, closed isolation, disinfection and protection, etc. at critical areas like intercontinental hotel, winter training center, and Winter Olympic Organizing Committee office area. In view of the snowy weather, Shougang Construction Investment Company actively organized on-the-job workers to carry out snow removal work, requiring them to wear masks and gloves when cleaning snow in order to ensure travel safety of national team athletes and individual travelers. Snow removal was carried out at different time slot to avoid personnel gathering and cross-infection, as well as to prevent cluster operations.

The front-line cadres and workers were indeed making the snow a sweet sight to behold with their dedication and commitment.
