Making Every Effort to Build the Demonstration Base of Chinese Automobile Sports Culture.

On August 16, the opening ceremony of Shougang Cycle Racing Valley was held at the Automobile Stunt Exhibition Ground of Shougang Cycle Racing Valley in Qinhuangdao.

The Automobile Stunt Exhibition Ground of Shougang Cycle Racing Valley is transformed from the original steel-making billet span and the rolling reheating furnace workshop of Shouqin Company. A year ago, the last billet of Shouqin Company, whose production was stopped, was delivered to the rolling process here. Today after a year, it is still at this same place that Shouqin Company had a magnificent makeover that opens up to a new era.

Xu Jianguo, the leader of Shougang Group, expressed his heartfelt thanks to all the leaders and friends who pay attention to the construction of Shougang Group’s project, and sincerely paid tribute to all the participants in the construction of Shougang Cycle Racing Valley Project. He said, “Qinhuangdao Shougang Cycle Racing Valley is a key project for Shougang Group to implement the new development concept and to build a comprehensive city service provider project. It is also a major transformation and upgrading project for Shougang Group to serve the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development and to base itself at Qinhuangdao’s international tourism city position. In accordance with the overall requirements of ‘high-end industry and high-end operation’, Shougang Cycle Racing Valley will strive to build a demonstration base for Chinese automobile sports culture with efforts for standardization, function, and quality.”

Li Pin, Deputy Director of the Administrative Centre of Automobile and Motorcycle Sports of the General Administration of Sport of China said, “As a new hope and force for the vigorous development of China’s automobile and motorcycle sports, the Shougang Cycle Racing Valley has given a beautiful answer at Shougang’s speed after one year’s construction. The General Administration of Sport of China has listed automobile and motorcycle sports as the largest industry in the sports industry. China’s racing sports are in a period of vigorous development. Shougang Cycle Racing Valley is the full evidence of Shougang Group’s taking a broad and long view, conforming to the historical development and grasping the good opportunity of the times. This year coincides with the important historical moment of Shougang’s centenary anniversary. We hope that Shougang Cycle Racing Valley will uphold the spirit of the century-old Shougang, help the development of China’s automobile sports and industry, closely following the orientation of Qinhuangdao International Tourist City, bring new atmosphere to China’s automobile sport, to receive new vitality into the city, and realize the grand goal of ‘China’s automobile sport culture demonstration base.’”

The “Huajiaban” Automotive Stunt Team, world record-maker and -holder of the Guinness automotive stunt sport, is now resident in the Automobile Stunt Exhibition Ground of the Cycle Racing Valley. They performed brilliantly and brought the atmosphere off the chart.

More than a dozen of cars and motorcycles performed interactive performances, including sidewall skiing for cars, rollover of motorcycles in the air, and so on. All the impossibilities were made possible here. The opening ceremony came to a successful end amid cries, and the guests enjoyed the performances to their hearts’ content. Liu Dajun from Shougang Construction Group said excitedly, “This is so awesome! I haven’t had enough of this. We at Shougang Construction Group participated in the whole construction of the Shougang Cycle Racing Valley. I am so proud to be invited to the opening ceremony today.”

The Shougang Cycle Racing Valley Project covers an area of 8.13 square kilometers. It will launch the core area of 2.4 square kilometers in the park first. Then, it will lay out six functional blocks, namely automobile sports, automobile aftermarket, industrial heritage park, automobile education and scientific research, entertainment and vacation camp, and industrial supporting. At present, the projects of the Shougang Cycle Racing Valley which have been constructed and put into operation include the international standard second-class track were designed by Dr. Yao Qiming, the only designer with FIA certification qualification in China; the world’s largest karting world designed by PSD Company of France; the only professional straight-line racing track in China; the Automobile Stunt Exhibition Ground with a huge area of over 20,000 square meters transformed by fully utilizing industrial workshop; the blast furnace square featuring steel and locomotive and built by demolishing and renovating industrial relics in blast furnace and dry dust removal area and other key projects. At the same time, supporting projects such as sightseeing trains, sky track, and central axis landscape were built, setting model industrial impression of tourism and sightseeing, project experience, food and beverage, and entertainment.
