On November 24, the launching of the Sixth Beijing Citizens’ Happy Wintertime Series was held at the Ice Hockey Arena of the Shougang Park.

Mr. Meng Jun, Deputy Secretary General of the Beijing Municipal Government announced the opening of the series. A total of 2,022 people, such as Mr. Ding Dong, Executive Deputy Director of the Winter Sports Center of General Administration of Sport of China, Mr. Zhao Wen, Director of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Sports, Mr. Yang Haibin, Deputy Director of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Sports, Mr. Zhao Wei, Head of the Cultural Activities Department of Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee, Mr. Chang Wei, Secretary of Shijingshan District Party Committee, Mr. Chen Zhichang, District Mayor, Mr. Zhang Gongyan, Party Committee Secretary, Chairman and General Manager of Shougang Group, Mr. Lü Qin, Deputy Head of the News and Publicity Department of the Organizing Committee of the Beijing Winter Olympics, Ms. Shen Xue, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League of Beijing and champion of figure skating in the Winter Olympics, Mr. Shi Daixin, Chairman of the Trade Union of the Organs Directly under Beijing, Mr. Zhou Yuzhong, Chairman of the Industrial Trade Union of Beijing Federation of Trade Unions, Mr. Guo Zhibin, Deputy Inspector of Beijing Disabled Persons’ Federation, Mr. Zuo Xiaobing, Deputy District Mayor of Shijingshan District, Mr. Liang Jie, Deputy General Manager of Shougang Group and other leaders, as well as leaders of the wintertime series support units, and relevant organizing and member units of the Cultural Activities Department of Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee, the Winter Sports Management Center of General Administration of Sport of China, citizens and teenagers of the capital and ice and snow enthusiasts of various groups, leaders of relevant units at the municipal level, the sports bureaus of each district, and heads of relevant ice and snow associations and ice and snow venues, participated in the launch.

Participants watched the exciting ice performances in the Ice Hockey Arena of Shougang Park, including dragon dance and lion dance on ice, figure skating on ice, Peking Opera on ice, youth team skating, ice hockey for the elderly, and other highly ornamental performances, so that the audience could enjoy a dreamlike and fantastic ice and snow feast. At the same time, in the Figure Skating Rink, Short Track Speed Skating Rink, and Curling Arena of Shougang, the ice public welfare experience class, youth short track speed skating relay race and disabled people’s curling competition were also in full swing. Ms. Shen Xue, champion of the Winter Olympics, gave teenagers a lively family ice public welfare experience class.

After the launch ceremony, leaders of Shijingshan District and Shougang Group inspected the construction of the ski jump platform project and supporting facilities of Shougang.
