In conjunction with the Shougang’s construction centennial celebrations, the second Shougang Automotive Steel Technology Forum was held in Beijing on September 5. Yang Jie, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Auto Lightweight Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance of China Society of Automotive Engineers, Heads of the Lightweight Research Department, Zhao Min’ge and Liu Jianhui, the leaders of Shougang Group, and professionals from relevant units of Shougang, together with a total of over 270 customers and guests from 156 automobile manufacturing and supporting enterprises including FAW, SAIC Group, Beijing Benz, BMW-Brilliance, GAC Toyota, Dongfeng Nissan, Dongfeng Honda, Great Wall Motors, Zhejiang Geely, and so on, gathered together for a forum and discussion on the development trend of automotive materials and automotive industry applications, Shougang’s strategic positioning, product and support capabilities, the development and application of new technologies and products of Shougang, solutions based on user needs, etc.

In his speech, Zhao Min’ge, on behalf of Shougang Group, sincerely welcomed the leaders, experts, scholars, entrepreneurs, and friends from all walks of life who attended the forum and expressed heartfelt thanks to everyone for the long-standing trust and support. He said, “Auto sheet is the first of the three strategic products of Shougang. It was put into the market in 2009. After ten years of development and accumulation, relying on a strong research and development system and advanced technology and equipment, it has become a signature product of high-quality manufacturing in Shougang. At the forum, Yang Jie made a brilliant report on the “Discussions on High Strength Steel for Passenger Car Body and Industrial Application Technology.” The responsible persons of Shougang Marketing Center and Technology Research Institute respectively introduced Shougang-related new technologies and products, as well as its services entitled “Be Committed to Becoming an Excellent Steel Service Provider,” “R & D and Application of SmooSurf Outer Sheet of Shougang,” “R & D and Application of ZM New Coating Materials,” “R & D and Application of Cold Rolled High Strength Steel”, “Solutions Based on User Usage Requirements,” “Application and Practice of Silicon Steel for New Energy Vehicle Driving Motor”; participants participated in three sub-forums, namely supply chain, new materials and new technologies, and pickling sheet, and carried out discussion.

At the forum, the century-old Shougang propaganda film and Shougang auto sheet propaganda film were broadcast.
