On July 18, BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd. visited Shougang Cold Rolling Company with 15 media including CCTV and others from finance and auto industries and launched the event of “Excellent Quality - 2019 Media Visit to Suppliers of BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd.” – “BMW • Shougang Media Day.”

“Today I’m very happy to show you a benchmarking enterprise – the century-old Shougang.” As soon as Yang Meihong, Vice President of BMW Brilliance Automobile Ltd. took her seat, she highly praised Shougang in the front of the media.

As one of the world’s top 500 enterprises, Shougang is a high-end automobile plate manufacturer and service provider while BMW is an excellent global car maker. At this year’s supplier conference of BMW Brilliance Automobile Ltd, Shougang was the only steel company nominated for supplier recognition and won the “Quality Excellence Award” for suppliers with its outstanding performance in supply guarantee, technical cooperation, new product development and application and stable quality.

The guests paid a visit to the acid rolling and galvanizing production lines of Shougang Cold Rolling Company. The media reporters were amazed by the neat and orderly production sites. They took photos and praised the green and intelligent production lines one after another. 

With the world-class equipment and technologies introduced from abroad, the acid rolling line of Shougang Cold Rolling Company produces high-quality products with accurate coating thickness, high surface quality and good mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. Li Yongheng, Senior Customer Manager of “Auto Business Review,” said after his visit, “This visit to Shougang’s factory is quite impressive. When visiting the factory, we found that there were few people in the workshop, which indicated that they have done a good job in intelligent manufacturing in the mill. Shougang products have excellent quality. Shougang won the BMW “Quality Excellence Award,” got approved by the BMW headquarters in Germany and has become an international supplier of BMW. It has upgraded from the domestic market to the international one, which is not only the pride of state-owned enterprises, but also that of Chinese independent brands.”

Meanwhile, Liu Jianhui, leader of Shougang Group told the story in the CCTV interview about “how the enterprise as a supplier upgraded its technology and management model by cooperating with BMW Brilliance Automobile Ltd to innovate and develop ‘Chinese manufacturing’ continuously.”

In recent years, Shougang has formed its unique brand, manufacturing, technology, quality and service advantages by virtue of its enhanced competitiveness.
