Recently, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of China issued the list of honorary personnel winning the “National Technical Expert” award in the 2018 Vocational Skills Competition. A total of 13 Shougang staff were awarded this honor.

According to the regulations on the management of vocational skills competition of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, 560 contestants who achieved outstanding results in the National Selection Competition for the 45th World Skills Competition and the China Skills Competition 2018 were awarded medals and certificates of honor. Among them, the outstanding contestants of the 9th National Steel Industry Vocational Skills Competition include: Zhao Manxiang, Luo Deqing, Zhang Yuelin, Zhang Hao, Zhao Jianxuan from Shougang Co., Ltd., and Rong Yanming from Shougang Jingtang Company; outstanding contestants of the 2nd National Metallurgical Mining Industry Vocational Skills Competition include: Wu Dakuan, Yue Jun, Fu Quan, Hou Yuhe, Wang Baolin, Xu Peng and Sun Xueming from Shougang Mining Cooperation.

In recent years, Shougang’s employees have actively participated in a series of influential vocational skill competitions, and a large number of outstanding skilled talents stand out, fully demonstrating the skillful craft and tenacious work ethics of Shougang. They further inherit and carry forward the spirit of artisans and deepen steel companies’ understanding of why cultivating skilled personnel matter, which has made important contributions to the development of the steel industry. Based on the situation, Shougang's various units have carried out multi-level and multi-channel employee skill competitions, labor emulations and other activities, actively carried out the evaluation of production-line workers' scientific and technological achievement awards, extensively established labor model innovation studios, learning-type teams, and promoted the development of employee skills training, which has played an important role in establishing an industrial worker skill formation system and an innovative industrial worker development system. It motivated employees to improve their skills and comprehensive quality, thus forming a high-quality workforce team. In addition, at the National Steel Industry Human Resources and Education Training Work Conference held in mid-July this year, Shougang Talent Development Institute made an exchange of experience entitled "Promote Vocational Skill Competition and Build Artisans to Provide Talent Support for Shougang's High-quality Development", receiving praise from the participants.
