Recently, the 3rd Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Simulated Steelmaking-Rolling Competition was concluded. The event was held by Shougang Talent Development Institute and co-sponsored by Beijing Metal Society, the Tianjin Society for Metals and Hebei Province Society for Metals. Individual and group participants from Shougang won multiple awards. 

The competition attracted 106 contestants from 10 steel companies and 5 vocational colleges in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei. They were divided into enterprise and college groups to attend individual events, individual championships and team championships. The contestants were tested on professional knowledge of the iron and steel smelting theory, the simulation practice and the relevant knowledge. Adhering to the principle of “openness, fairness and justice”, the competition judge panel evaluated the results strictly according to the competition rules and scoring standards.

After three days of intense competition, Shougang Jingtang Company and Shougang Co., Ltd. won the first and second prizes of the enterprise group competition; the second prize of the steel-making enterprise group went to Wang Jianchao and Shen Zhiwei from Shougang Co., Ltd., and Li Yong, Chen Xiang from Shougang Jingtang Company in the single championship competition; Li Qing and Yang Ming from Shougang Jingtang Company and Zhang Baiyuan and Zhang Jinsheng from Shougang Co., Ltd. respectively won the first and second prize of steel-rolling enterprise group in the single championship competition; Guo Zixin and Ma Zuojin from Shougang Technician College won the second prize of steelmaking college group in the single championship competition.

The organizer Shougang Talent Development Institute attached great importance to the organization work, through setting up the competition organization, elaborating the competition schedule, and carefully planning and thoroughly arranging participants' accommodation, competition judgment preparation, competition venue, and on-site guidance. In this way, it had provided comprehensive, high-level services and excellent competition environment for the event which was highly praised by the organizers of the societies for metals in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei. At the same time, the Talent Development Institute won the Outstanding Contribution Unit Award.
