In April, 2019, the start-up meeting of the demonstration platform project for new energy automotive materials production and application was held in FAW Group. Shougang Jingtang Company took part in the start-up meeting as the only iron and steel enterprise to enter the demonstration platform for new materials.

Since 2019, Jingtang Company has implemented a high-quality strategy featuring product leadership, followed the development trend of steel products of "lightweight, high strength, environmental protection, and corrosion resistance", and constantly upgraded high-grade products and high-end user increments. In the first half of this year, the output of high-end leading products of Jingtang Company increased by 142,200 tons compared with the same period last year; 427 parts of automobile plates were certified in 21 factories; 9 items of tinplate passed the certification, with a total supply of 11,800 tons. At present, Shougang provided supply services to more than 70 automobile main engine factories and spare parts factories such as BMW, SAIC Volkswagen, SAIC General Motors and Chang'an Ford, and stable mass supply has also been provided to Chrysler, Italian Fiat, German Volkswagen, Spanish Volkswagen Seat, Mexico Audi and other foreign users. Up to now, Jingtang ultra-high strength steel has achieved full coverage below 1,200 MPa level.

Jingtang Company has set up five project groups for the product series of "automobile, tin plating, hot rolling, medium and heavy plate, cold rolling and coating". When it comes to the key, difficult and painful points in production, it has focused on tackling key problems and improved the production capacity of high-strength automobile steel, outer plate, food packaging steel and high-performance thick plate.

At the same time, it has strengthened efficient cooperation. According to the characteristics of welding machine, double shear, tension straightening machine and other equipment, based on the contract and production cycle of high strength steel every month, mechanical, electrical, production and welding machine related specialties make maintenance plans for key equipment to ensure the quality of welding seam and the stability of equipment through maintenance and balance meetings.

Product innovation capability has been further upgraded to improve the product quality. Adhering to the brand concept of "building the leading steel", it has been developed successively new varieties of high strength automobile plate, outer plates of household appliances, acid resistant pipeline steel, tinplate, aluminized zinc plate, high strength weather resistant steel, high construction steel and bridge steel.

In 2019, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology started the construction of the "demonstration platform for production and application of new energy automotive materials". Jingtang Company stood out as the first from the four bidding teams and secured the bid of the "demonstration platform for production and application of new energy automotive materials" by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

Home appliance plate is also the main product produced by the cold rolling Department of Jingtang Company. Since this year, the Shougang staff have given full play to the advantages of equipment and technology, strengthened the fine management of variety steel and new products, and innovatively developed a number of new varieties with high technology content, high added value and good market prospects. Recently, a very thin 0.27mm external panel of household appliances has been trial-produced in one time, breaking through the production limit of cold-rolled hot-dip galvanizing. At present, Jingtang Company has become one of the strongest domestic appliance steel companies to offer comprehensive support and produce new products. It has established stable cooperative relations with Haier, Midea, Gree, Foxconn, LG, Hesheng, Liba and other industry giants. Special products also cover welding wire steel, coated substrate, welded pipe steel, enamel steel, chain steel, container steel, high carbon steel, motorcycle standard parts and other series of steel.

In the first half of 2019, the heavy plate of Jingtang Company focused on product transfer, certification and new product development of 4,300mm production line. A series of controlled rolling and heat treatment products including production line structural steel, container steel, high construction steel, bridge steel and shipbuilding steel have been transferred. The products are supplied to the ski jumping platform of Shougang Winter Olympics Park and the high-speed railway station of Xiong’an New Area. The ship boards below D36 have passed the on-site audits of the classification societies of eight countries. New products such as bridge composite plate for Beijing Huilongguan bicycle roadway and SQ420NH high strength weatherproof steel for State Grid have been developed along the 3,500mm production line. New progress has been made in product certification. In the production process of 80mm high-construction steel products for jumping platform project of Shougang Winter Olympics Park, Jingtang Company improved the qualified rate of flaw detection through technical measures such as alloy baking in steelmaking, slab down-line slow cooling, steel plate rolling thick slow cooling and thick plate cover under the conditions of no vacuum in steelmaking and no water cooling in rolling. The comprehensive mechanical properties of the steel sheet were guaranteed by means of large reduction and optimization of controlled rolling process. After six trial rollings, all the steel sheets were supplied smoothly in 29 days.

Up to now, the market share of products such as wheel steel, household appliance plate and automobile plate of Jingtang Company has reached 35%, 12% and 9.4% respectively. Among them, the wheel steel industry ranks the first; the household appliance plate industry the second; and the automobile plate industry the fourth.
