On 17th October, World Winter Sports (Beijing) Expo 2019 opened at the China National Convention Center. Cai Qi, Secretary of the Beijing Municipal Committee, Xu Qin, Deputy Secretary of the Hebei Provincial Committee and Governor of Hebei Province, Cui Shuqiang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Beijing Municipal Committee and Secretary General, Zhang Jiandong, Vice Mayor of Beijing, Han Zirong, Full-time Vice Chairman and Secretary General of the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee, and other leaders visited Shougang booth.

At about 11:00 a.m., Cai Qi and other leaders arrived at Shougang booth and listened to the relevant report from Liang Jie, the leader of Shougang Group, before the Shougang Park North District Planning Sand Plate. Cai Qi nodded in approval. The main style of Shougang booth evolved from the prototype of Shougang ski jumping platform. The main color theme of the booth is white, symbolizing ice and snow. Under the banner "a new capital city revival landmark in a new era", the new planning and appearance of Shougang Park was played on the screen. Shougang booth is simple and concise, which is consistent with the theme of World Winter Sports (Beijing) Expo. It also provides experiences with explaining robots and selling demonstration robots etc. demonstrating that Shougang seized the opportunity of the Winter Olympic Games, earnestly implementing the requirements of the Municipal Party Committee and the municipal government to create a new capital city revival landmark in a new era, and made every effort to promote the cultural, ecological, industrial and vitality revival of Shougang Park.

World Winter Sports (Beijing) Expo 2019 is hosted by Beijing Olympic City Development Association and International Data Group and supported by Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, Chinese Olympic Committee and All-China Sports Federation. Being the annual event for the development of ice and snow industry in China and the world, Expo 2019 continued the theme of "Power of Ice and Snow", actively implements the decision-making and deployment of the construction of a sports power, innovates and upgrades with the perspective of internationalization, industrialization and popularization. it sets up 30,000 square meters of exhibition area and organizes more than 20 international forums, industrial conferences and many negotiation and trading activities. More than 600 domestic and foreign brands participate in the exhibition, which is expected to attract a crowd of more than 160,000 visitors, with more than 600 domestic and international media reporting.

As an important integral component of the Winter Expo, more than 20 related forums and supporting activities are held covering the various topics related to winter sports, including the main forum, Olympic Urban Development forum, Finnish Day theme events, ice and snow culture development forum, entrepreneurship competition, China ice hockey development forum, snowfield operation and management forum, China ice and snow talent development forum, ice and snow tourism development forum, hosting venue design, construction forum and other equivalent forums, as well as closed door meeting of international think tanks of ice and snow.
