Shougang Completes the Service Guarantee Task for the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China

From making giant screen, seven firework trees, firework fences and large flower beds in Tian'anmen Square, to participating in parades, providing driving service for the floats, volunteer service and evening performances, Shougang employees, with the belief that the interests of the motherland are more important than anything else, displayed their true feelings for the motherland and the people. Through obeying orders, commands and showing disciplines, they have meticulously and excellently completed more than 10 service guarantee tasks for the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, presenting a good mental outlook and positive corporate image.

The giant screen of the National Day celebration was made, installed and operated by Shougang

"On the beautiful blue sky, the Five-Starred Red Flags are flying..." During the grand party held in Tian'anmen Square on 1st October, the beautiful and graceful "Ode to the Red Flag" spread over Tian'anmen Square. The largest "Five-Starred Red Flag" produced, installed and operated by Shougang was raised, which attracted the attention of all the people in the square.

On the huge "Five-Starred Red Flag", the clear red flow seemed to be infused with life. This "Five-Starred Red Flag" was an LED screen, 60 meters high and 90 meters wide. It was composed of three sections of screens. It wove a huge screen foundation with high molecular weight fiber ropes. inlaid in the grid with steel wire mesh, and then fixed on the steel wire mesh with LED light strips. When it was hung, it was hoisted from the 51-ton screen box with a crane to be presented in front of everyone; "flagpole" was three groups of 600-ton cranes. It took more than three months for the screen to be designed and made. After nearly 30 field investigations, tests and demonstrations, ranging from simple module tests to final unit tests, the scheme was continuously optimized. It took about 100 minutes for such a large screen to be raise. When the net curtain was pulled up, it could produce 2 tons of force. It had always been in a tight state and could resist the 8-level wind. Even with strong wind, it could still maintain stability.

On the north side of the Monument to the People's Heroes, seven colorful fireworks trees made and operated by Shougang were another highlight of the party. "Seven 25-meter tall, changeable and polyhedral fireworks trees symbolize the great achievements of the People's Republic of China for the past 70 years, and also embody the concept of ecological environment protection." Each tree had four sections of leaves, which could rotate 360 degrees with the trunk. Each section of leaves was equipped with fireworks with different special effects.

Seven trees were rotated and combined to form a fireworks scene, occasionally blended with LED lights to show the seasonal changes in spring, summer, autumn and winter, or the shape of the peacock spreading its tail, or the three-dimensional animation effects such as "peony opening and closing", "kite swaying" and "smiling face", which made the display of fireworks feel more three-dimensional and real…

After accepting the service guarantee task for the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the Party committee of Shougang Group attached great importance to it. He immediately established a leading group headed by Zhang Gongyan, Secretary of the Party committee, chairman of the board and general manager. The 70 headquarters of Shougang Group Co., Ltd. was formed and its management system was established. Zhang Gongyan, Bai Xin, deputy general manager of the Group, and Li Tingxiang, executive deputy director of the 70 headquarters of Shougang, also served as the "operation directors of large-scale units" for the celebration.

Entrusting the service guarantee to Shougang shows that the CPC Central Committee and Beijing Municipal Government have full faith in Shougang. It was the honor of Shougang and its employees to undertake the service guarantee task of the National Day celebration. Tian’anmen Square theme flower beds were made by Shougang

A huge flower basket shaped landscape flower bed in Tian'anmen Square was particularly festive and dazzling under the blue sky and white clouds. This was a special gift from Shougang builders to the National Day. According to reports, Shougang has been responsible for the production and installation of the theme flower bed structure of Tian'anmen Square for 12 consecutive years taking up the tasks 15 times since 2008.

Large flower beds were placed in Tian'anmen Square, which was the most important part of the National Day landscape layout over the years. Construction was usually carried out since mid-September for previous years. As this year coincided with the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the installation of flower beds was delayed until after the National Day celebration.

The steel structure branch of Shougang Construction Group started to install flower beds at 23:55 pm on 1st October. After intensive construction, at 6:00 a.m. on 2nd October, the jubilant theme flower beds appeared in Tian'anmen Square to meet the general public and tourists.

The height of the whole flower bed was 18 meters, the basket’s height was 16 meters, the basket’s diameter was 12 meters, and the diameter of the bottom of the flower bed was 45 meters. On the north side of the basket, it was written "the whole world joins in jubilation, 1949-2019"; on the south side of the basket, it was written "bless the motherland, 1949-2019". At the same time, the flower bed was also equipped with night scene lighting device. When the night light shone on the basket, it present a beautiful light and shadow effect.

Shougang employees participated in the celebration and mass parades

It was a great honor to attend the celebration in the square. On 1st October, the representatives of advanced employees and model workers of Shougang participated in the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China with great excitement. After the celebration, reporters were quick to interview them by telephone. Liu Hong, delegate to the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and welder of Shougang Technology Research Institute, said, “As a skilled operator, I am very proud to be able to participate in the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. The important speech delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping is inspiring to every Chinese. I feel deeply that our country is moving towards prosperity and strength, and I feel how hard-won the good days are today.” Ma Zhiwei, inspector of the national model worker and the inspection committee of the Shougang Party committee, said, “Attending this event is the happiest moment in my life. The speech by General Secretary Xi Jinping gives us great encouragement. The grand celebration before Tian’anmen also makes everyone passionate and enthusiastic. I’m happy to meet the new era and can only fight for the realization of the Chinese dream from my post.”

On the day of the National Day, Chang’an Street and Tian’anmen Gate were turned into a sea of joy. When the masses marched through the Tian’anmen review area with the "hard struggle" formation, a float showing "steel splashing, molten iron flowing, oil flowing, wheat rolling, and socialist construction in full swing" was particularly noticeable. The formation comprised of Shougang employees. 85 employees from 19 basic units of Shougang were placed in the first row and the outermost part on both sides. With neat and vigorous steps, they shouted "long live the motherland" in unison to express Shougang employees' boundless love and well wishes for the motherland; They carried out a perfect display and performance with the full enthusiasm and happiest smile in front of Tian'anmen Gate, accepting the review by the Party, state leaders and the people of the country, and added color to Shougang and the 70th birthday of the motherland.

After the mass parade, Nie Guifu, a trade union member of Shougang, said, “As representatives of Shougang employees, we are extremely excited, proud and happy to participate in the national celebration.” Yao Jianfeng of Shougang Labor Union said, “This is a precious memory in my life experience. I want to take this honor as the driving force, and contribute to the development of Shougang.” Gao Yanan of Shougang Gas Co., Ltd. said, “On the 60th anniversary of the National Day, I had the honor to participate in the performance of the group dance. Ten years later, I am able to participate in the National Day ceremony again, making my life full of splendor.” Li Hongji of a service company in the park said: “In retrospect, many scenes seem to be still in front of me. I remember the feeling of shock, excitement and blood boiling.”

70 floats with different shapes and profound meanings bearing the brilliant achievements during the 70 years since the founding of the People's Republic of China. When the floats passed through Tian'anmen Square, the "sports power" square float with Shougang ski jump platform as the main body shone. Shougang was the only company name appearing in the TV commentary.

Driving the floats was a glorious task for Shougang employees. On the actual day, 14 drivers from Shougang skillfully completed the task of driving the floats.

At the same time, six medical staff members of Shougang Hospital of Peking University undertook the work of medical service security for the mass parade. At the military parade, Shougang also dispatched 21 employees to participate in the Beijing reserve service food squadron.

350 teachers and students of Shougang Institute of Technology danced to the floor.

On the evening of 1st October, 350 teachers and students from Shougang Institute of Technology participated in the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China that was held in Tian'anmen Square, Beijing.

After the celebration, Zhou Bojiu, assistant dean of Shougang Institute of Technology, said, “Participating in the celebration for the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China made me feel the development of the country, progress of the times, strength of the country, wealth of the people and the performance of the mass gala is more artistic, participatory, scientific and enjoyable, which better reflect the atmosphere of celebrating the people in the People's Republic of China and eulogizing the new era.” Ma Danni, a student at Shougang Institute of Technology, said: “I'm very excited to recall the performance that day. We successfully completed the National Day dance task, presented gifts to the birthday of the motherland, and blessed the motherland with constant change and progress.” Sun Yiying, another student at Shougang Institute of Technology, said, “Being able to participate in the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China has left an unforgettable memory in my life. This experience will always inspire me to stay true to the original self, keep my mission in mind, work hard and forge ahead in my future life.”

During the celebration period, 133 students from Shougang Institute of Technology helped maintained order, provided direction to the human traffic as well as information to tourist and participated in other volunteers’ work at Garden Expo and Olympic Park.
