Shougang’s Silicon Steel Assists Construction of Beijing Sub-Center and New Airport

Recently, it was learned from the State Grid Beijing Electric Power Company that SCB12 and SCB13 energy-efficient transformers designed and manufactured with Shougang's ultra-low loss and low noise-oriented silicon steel were successfully applied to power transmission and transformation facilities construction of major national engineering projects such as “Beijing Sub-Center” and “Beijing New Airport”. Comprehensive test results of relevant management departments show that the overall performance is better than the standard requirements. Shougang also reached a cooperation intention for the next grid integration and reconstruction of Shougang Park, improving power supply support capability of key projects such as the Winter Olympic Games Organizing Committee, ski jumping platform and winter training center, and ensuring Shougang’s new three-year plan to smoothly promote this series of projects. As a clean and efficient high-quality functional product, Shougang’s silicon steel is taking a new step in urban service.

The national grid is the aorta of national energy transmission. In order to further improve the efficiency of power transmission and reduce power consumption in the transportation process, China is accelerating the construction of a new energy transmission system with the UHV grid as the main channel and the energy-efficient distribution network as the terminal. The core requirement is that the main material for transformer production - oriented silicon steel must be of high energy efficiency, high safety, and high environmental protection.

To meet the requirements of this national energy development strategy, Shougang Co., Ltd. takes actions according to trends and current situation. The thin oriented silicon steel independently developed by Shougang, 18SQGD060, 18SQGD065, 20SQGD070 and 20SQG080 have achieved stable production, and their product quality and performance have reached the international advanced level.

In 2018, the key series products successfully passed the "double million" identification of UHV large-capacity transformer application experts and customers. Their comprehensive technical performance reached the international advanced level of similar products, and their noise and coating adhesion indicators reached the international leading level, achieving the global debut of two low-noise products: 27SQGD085LN and 23SQGD080LN. In 2017, the thin high-end oriented silicon steel was successfully applied to the world's first large-capacity, energy-saving, and environmentally-friendly coil core transformer, and was first installed in the first intelligent substation of China's high-speed rail. Shougang focuses on the development of high-magnetic thin silicon steel to carry out deep cooperation with famous transformer manufacturers such as TBEA, Baobian, ABB and Siemens, and be applied in batches to ultra-high voltage transformers of 500kv to 1,000kv of major projects at home and abroad. Furthermore, 0.18-mm oriented silicon steel is used in the manufacturing of the first “Super Grade 1” energy efficient coil core distribution transformer in China.
