With the renewal of the chronology and the arrival of the New Year, a momentous historical moment worth remembering forever is deeply engraved in the annals of Shougang in the past century. On February 1st, 2019, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, President of the State and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, inspected the preparation of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games and the Winter Paralympic Games at Shougang Park, Shijingshan.

This is kind care that warms the hearts of the entire Shougang staff.

This is great inspiration to inspire us to shoulder our mission and move forward.

It is the earnest expectation that sounds the trumpet to continue the centuries-old legend of Shougang.

Back to time, memory is fixed and the earth echoes for a long time, recalling the footprints during the General Secretary’s visit to Shougang and his earnest expectations and warmhearted trust in  Shougang, revisiting those warmhearted and historical moments, and more intimately feeling the General Secretary’s cordial care for the Shougang staff and the great trust in Shougang’s development.

“I went there six years ago.”

Special time nodes always evoke people’s heavy and unforgettable memories. At about 10:50 on July 28th, 2016, General Secretary Xi Jinping came to Tangshan Planning Exhibition Hall. In front of the panoramic view of Caofeidian Factory of Shougang, General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed to the picture and said, “I went there six years ago.”

Time goes back to 2010 and the past pictures are vivid. On July 18th, 2010, General Secretary Xi Jinping visited Jingtang Company of Shougang and cordially inquired about the relocation adjustment, production, operation and construction of Shougang. He encouraged Shougang to produce high value-added products at low cost.

General Secretary Xi Jinping has inspected the main control room of the 5,500 cubic meter blast furnace and 2250 hot rolling production line of Jingtang Company of Shougang. In the main control room of the 5,500 cubic meter blast furnace, the cadres and staff present shook hands one by one, and warm applause was heard from the scene. He inquired in detail about the conditions and factors for the site selection of Jingtang, the proportion of imported ore, circular economy, energy saving and emissions reduction, and the main technical and economic indicators of Shougang. He also asked with concern about the construction of living bases for employees. Out of the main control room of the blast furnace and on the way to the 2250 hot rolling, Xi Jinping asked with concern about the current situation of the old Beijing factory of Shougang. Arriving at the 2250 hot rolling production site, Xi Jinping watched the rolling process from continuous casting slab to hot rolling coil along the visiting corridor. After carefully introducing the process and equipment, production process, equipment management, and technical indicators of production capacity and products, General Secretary Xi Jinping said happily, "You have developed very fast, and every time I come, there are new changes. I hope you can achieve the production of high value-added products at low cost as soon as possible." He emphasized that we should take the transformation of the mode of economic development as the main line, take high-tech as the support, adhere to the development direction of green growth, vigorously develop the circular economy, focus on developing green industries and building green cities, and strive to find a resource-saving, environment-friendly and innovation-driven development path.

Keep in mind the exhortations and shoulder the mission to move forward. The Shougang staff practice the requirements of "resource saving, environmental friendliness and innovative drive", work hard, forge ahead, and strive to build a "dream factory" for China's iron and steel industry. Today, Jingtang Company of Shougang has become a demonstration of the new generation of the recyclable steel manufacturing process in China, a production base of high-quality sheet metal with advanced international level, and a demonstration factory of independent innovation. With “first-class products, first-class management, first-class environment, and first-class efficiency”, a magnificent modern steel enterprise stands on the coast of the Bohai Sea, creating a brand-new model for the planning and development of China's super-large iron and steel joint enterprises.

Through relocation and adjustment, Shougang insists on improving its steel industry, producing high value-added products at low cost, realizing transformation and upgrading, rapidly transforming its product structure to middle and high-end, and achieving fruitful results. The market share of strategic products such as automobile plate, electrical steel, and tinplate has reached the top three in China, and the domestic market share of household appliances plate, bridge steel, and wheel steel ranks first; it has become the fourth manufacturer in the world to master the production technology of all-low temperature and high magnetic induction oriented silicon steel, ranking first in the world; new products have been launched globally and domestically continuously, and they have won the highest rating of "A+" with strong competitiveness. The Shougang staff are particularly proud that General Secretary Xi Jinping twice reviewed the troops by inspection car made with Shougang automobile plates.

Bear in mind General Secretary's instructions and write a new chapter of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development. On February 26th, 2014, General Secretary Xi Jinping made an important speech during his visit to Beijing, gave important instructions to the management and development of the capital, and made major strategic plans to promote the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei. The only enterprise mentioned in General Secretary’s speech is Shougang. He pointed out that "Shougang’s relocation to Caofeidian is a concrete action. We should continue to work steadfastly.” This is the greatest praise and reward that General Secretary placed on all cadres and staff of Shougang, and it is also huge impetus and requirement.

Arm the mind with Xi Jinping's socialist ideology with Chinese characteristics in the new era, guide practice, and promote work. Party organizations and leading cadres at all levels in Shougang consciously learn Xi Jinping's socialist thought with Chinese characteristics in the new era, calmly reflect on the problems Shougang faces, and raise confidence in using Xi Jinping's socialist thought with Chinese characteristics in the new era as a powerful ideological weapon to solve the development problems of Shougang. Party Committee Central Group, Symposium, Weekend Hall, Special Training Course, Short Training Course... Top-down large-scale studies and large-scale training rounds are vigorously launched. Through in-depth study, the vast number of cadres and workers have firmly established the "four kinds of consciousness", firmly established the "four kinds of self-confidence", and achieved the "two kinds of maintenance", which provides a strong guarantee for promoting the transformation and development of Shougang.

Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development is a major national strategy that General Secretary Xi Jinping personally planned and promoted. The Shougang staff are well aware of their historical responsibilities and mission. As the pioneer of the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei, Shougang promotes the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei with the new model of "park + new industry". Beijing Park of Shougang has various highlights in accelerating its development and construction, and strives to become a new model of the capital’s reduced development, innovative development, and high-quality development; vigorously promotes the development and construction of Caofeidian Park, and actively undertakes the non-capital function dispersal according to the positioning of the advanced manufacturing transfer base; Shouqin Park will first start the Qinhuangdao Shougang Cycle Racing Valley Project, and build it into a demonstration leading project of the “coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei” and “undertaking Beijing's non-capital core function dispersal”.

Entrustment is an inspiration. The cadres and staff of Shougang have turned the concern of General Secretary Xi Jinping into a powerful motivating force and concrete action to promote the development and construction of Beijing Park. They are really working hard and making continuous progress.

Focusing on the construction of four rejuvenated modern parks of "culture, ecology, industry, and vitality", we will build a new landmark of capital city rejuvenation in the new era and accelerate the rise of the Shougang old industrial zone. The Organizing Committee for the Winter Olympic Games, the Innovation Center of Overseas Chinese Businessmen, the 19th global positive climate project (which is the first one in China), and the National Sports Industry Demonstration Zone have successively settled in Beijing Park of Shougang; the transformation of the old factory has transformed into "four pieces of ice" to assist the Winter Olympic Games, and the Summary Meeting of the Pyeongchang Winter Olympic Games and Winter Paralympic Games of the International Olympic Committee has been successfully held at Beijing Park of Shougang. Shougang Group has officially become the official partner of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games and Winter Paralympic Games and has been the highest-level sponsor of the Organizing Committee for the Beijing Winter Olympics. This is the first time in the history of Olympic sponsorship that the category of urban renewal service providers has appeared and won the 2018 IOC “Olympism in Action” Trophy. The Western extension of Chang'an Street across Yongding River Bridge is officially named "New Shougang Bridge".

Shougang has taken new steps to build a comprehensive urban service provider by focusing on the gathering of innovation elements such as urban development, the urgent needs of the government, the needs of the people, and ecological environment, and continuously cultivated new momentum and formed new industries. We will build the largest single-unit waste incineration power plant in the world, the first static transportation research and development demonstration base in China, and accelerate the development of financial services, urban infrastructure, real estate, health care, culture and sports, and international operations. Shougang Fund manages 16 funds with a contracted scale of 50.6 billion yuan, and the venture commune has become a national public space and incubation base.

Stand at a new starting point and embark on a new journey. Today, Shougang is striding forward in the direction directed by the General Secretary towards the goal of building a new landmark for the revival of the capital city in the new era and building a comprehensive large-scale enterprise group with world influence.
