Recently, the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission, the Beijing Finance Bureau, and the Beijing Municipal Tax Service of the State Administration of Taxation jointly issued the certificate of State-level High-tech Enterprise to Shougang Cold Rolling Company.

State-level high-tech enterprises refer to the enterprises which are registered in China (excluding Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan) to engage in continuous research and development and transformation of technological achievements, form core intellectual property rights, and carry out business activities based on this in the “high-tech fields supported by the state”. High-tech enterprises that have passed the examination and verification enjoy the national preferential policies of corporate income tax, and obtain the basic threshold for policy support such as research funding and financial appropriation, which are very important for improving the core competitiveness of enterprises and enhancing their brand image. 

This is the first time that the Cold Rolling Company has been appraised as a state-level high-tech enterprise. This is not only the witness of its rapid growth, but also the witness of users’ recognition and trust of its products. It is also a brilliant achievement that it has obtained after sticking to the innovation-driven development strategy over the past ten years.

Innovation is the fundamental driving force of enterprise development. Since its establishment, the Cold Rolling Company has attached great importance to the establishment of scientific and technological innovation platforms, R&D investment, the creation and protection of independent intellectual property, and the industrialization of scientific and technological achievements. With a perfect technological innovation system, the overall level of its technological innovation has always been in the leading position in the industry. In just ten years, the Cold Rolling Company has successfully acquired the capacity for whole vehicle supply, established supply cooperation with 70 automobile factories, and successfully realized the supply of high-end brand cars such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen. It has realized the supply of all BMW domestic models such as 5 series, 3 series and 1 series, as the first major supplier of Brilliance BMW, the first foreign-owned leading automobile factory in China. Through the certification of 800MPa and below strength grade steel in Daimler, Germany, it has become the steel plant which supplies the largest number of steel species for Beijing Benz in China. It has started the global certification of 980MPa grade products, realized the supply of new E-series, C-class, GLA, GLC and other main models of Mercedes-Benz, and become one of the top three suppliers to Beijing Benz. In recent years, the Cold Rolling Company has completed more than 100 technological innovation projects, among which is the key technology and application project of “High-quality hot-dip galvanized, alloying galvanized automotive sheet quality performance control”, which won the second prize of the Beijing Science and Technology Progress Award. A total of 273 patents have been applied and 198 patents have been authorized, and more than 20 standards have been formulated or revised, thus achieving the successful transformation from a traditional manufacturing enterprise to a high-tech enterprise.
