Recently, the launch ceremony of the Shougang Park Automatic Drive Service Demonstration Area was held in the Qiaomeng Garden of the Shougang Park.

The construction of the Automatic Driving Service Demonstration Area in Shougang Park is an important step for the park to improve the smart application scenarios as well as promoting the development of the digital intelligence industry. Not only, but also a new starting point to create the urban industrial community when the whole world enters the 5G era. Around the urban technology, Shougang Park took the lead in launching the exploration in the field of automatic drive. According to the plan, before the Olympics (2020), there will be more than 10 non-human vehicles in the park, covering the northern part of the Shougang Park; during the Olympics (2022), there will be more than 100 non-human vehicles, covering the same area also on the northern part of Shougang Park; after the Olympics (2025), there will be more than 1,000 non-human vehicles, covering the entire park of Shougang with a service population of 150,000 in its scope. The social capital will cooperate with the development plan of Shougang Park to help it become a Beijing Innovation Park.

Liang Jie said in his speech: “Shougang Park will contribute its own resources and strengths, and do an outstanding job in the spirit of a craftsman to meet the wave of the automatic drive. The park will work with partners in the demonstration area to develop the demonstration applications of the automatic drive-related products, services, and business models to help accelerate the maturity and application of autonomous drive technologies, and explore new smart transportation modes for the future. At the same time, it’ll also provide experience support for the decision-making of the relevant government departments, and strive to make automatic driving to actually serve in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. Meanwhile, the park will also plan and build a professional park for the automatic driving field and also carry out the innovative entrepreneurship, and various high-tech demonstration applications with more partners.”

“The results of the project will take the Winter Olympics as an opportunity to take the lead in comprehensively promoting the industrialization of autonomous driving technology in the country. After the Olympics, a reproducible and transferable automatic-drive park template will be formed and promoted.” Professor Yang Diange of Tsinghua University introduced, “The park will focus on studying the automatic drive routes of seven types of vehicles, such as non-human passenger buses, non-human sweepers, and non-human logistics vehicles. The routes will be oriented to Shougang’s internal roads, squares, and peripheries of venues. In addition, the study objectives also include automatic driving lane planning, intelligent traffic lights, smart road, smart parking space, wireless charging parking space, and so on.”

At the ceremony, Shougang Group signed contracts with Tsinghua University, JD, Meituan Review, NeoLix, and Idriveplus. The Municipal Science and Technology Commission, Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, Shijingshan District Government, and the leaders of Shougang Group jointly unveiled the “Shougang Automatic Drive Service Demonstration Area”.
