On June 17, in the series report on “Following the Guide of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era – New Era, New Achievements and New Chapter” of Xinwen Lianbo by CCTV, “Beijing pushes forward the preparation for a fantastic, extraordinary and excellent Winter Olympics” was broadcasted, which reported on matters like Shougang’s services to guarantee Winter Olympics and construction of Shougang Beijing Park.

The "Guide" section of the opening report said that General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out that the nationwide fitness activities were widely carried out, the construction of sports powerhouses was accelerated, and the Beijing Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympics were organized. With the formal entry of the Winter Olympics into the “Beijing Cycle”, Beijing has fully implemented the green, shared, open, and honest concept of running the Olympics. With a sense of urgency that is not waiting for us, we will do a good job in all preparations.   

Following the guide of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s directive of “making great achievements in preparation of Winter Olympics and local development,” Shougang continuously enhances the core competence for updating urban services by firmly grasping the development opportunities of the ice-snow industry, which has formed a new advantage for updating urban services and accumulated new driver for transformation and development. It has signed contract with General Administration of Sport of China to build a national demonstration zone of sports industry; Beijing Men’s Ice Hockey Team formally changed into Beijing Shougang Men’s Ice Hockey Team and with the establishment of Beijing Shougang ice hockey national team club, the eagle plan was fully opened; the area for Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee Office, the training base of national teams of ice projects, the ramps of big air snowboarding of Winter Olympics and others have successively settled in Shougang Park. Adhering to the preparation concept of sustainable development and frugal competition of 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games, ramps of big air snowboarding of 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics Games will continue to be used for competitions and training after the competition, and areas of the ramps will be opened to the public as a sports leisure park,  improving the industrial transformation of Shougang Park, meanwhile, further promoting the popularization of winter sports in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region while, and try to make contribution to achieving the goal of attracting 300 million people in the country to participate in winter sport set by General Secretary Xi Jinping.
