From June 4 to 8, the summing-up conference of the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics and Paralympic Games of the International Olympic Committee was successfully held in Shougang Office Area of the Winter Olympic Organizing Committee in Shougang Beijing Park, and Shougang successfully completed the service guarantee task of this major international conference. In the process, the General Office of the Group, Shougang Construction Co., Ltd., the Park Service Company, the Park Management Department, Shougang Automation Information Technology Co., Ltd., Shougang Construction, the Group Enterprise Culture Department (Party Committee Propaganda Department), Shougang News Center, the International Engineering Company, the Integrity Supervision, the service support teams and personnel of Shougang League Commission and other units, with the overall situation in mind and selfless dedication, made full efforts to do a good job of service guarantee for the conference, and took practical actions to jointly create a beautiful and clean park environment, and a safe, harmonious and stable good atmosphere, which shows the Shougang new image in the new era, winning honor and glory for Shougang.

The summing-up conference of the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympic Games is the first international conference hosted by the International Olympic Committee, the International Paralympic Committee and the Beijing Olympic Organizing Committee. It is also the first major international event that Shougang service guarantees the Beijing Winter Olympic Games Committee. Such a major conference held in the Shougang Office Area of the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee, which first shows Shougang Beijing Park’s style and features, and the environment is the first thing to check in the park. The service-guarantee work starts from the detail, promotes the park environmental sanitation comprehensive renovation unceasingly, and strengthens the landscape visit route safety safeguard. Through effective rectification, the environment of the park has been greatly improved, achieving environmental protection and sanitation without dead ends, featuring the neat and beautiful landscape and streets.

Shougang Construction Co., Ltd. has formulated the construction node plan of Xiuchi, the third blast furnace, core area of Winter Olympic Games and winter training center, and organized construction units to carry out related work in an orderly manner, so as to make early preparations and take early actions. In May, they used their footsteps to “measure” the park, to inspect the safety of the equipment and facilities on the tour route, to carry out all-around, all-angle carpet inspection, and to correct the problems found in a timely manner. The Engineering Construction Department was required to organize the participating units in accordance with the breakdown of the target tasks to be organized and implemented one by one.

Chen Zhen, Head of the Engineering Construction Department of Shougang Construction Co., Ltd., counted all the way: the West Extension of Chang’an Street, Water Sunning Tank East Road, the Antique Building of Quming Lake, the reconstruction project of the third blast furnace, and the reconstruction construction of Xiuchi, among which, the reconstruction of the third blast furnace and Xiuchi underground garage is close to the Beijing Olympic Organizing Committee, and the construction of the project is the most important issue, especially when Xiuchi is not only a waterscape, but also an important function carrying area of a large event, so the place for cars is eagerly needed. Chen Zhen likened the relationship between underground garage and Xiuchi as “a large basin with a large basin on the top of the garage”. The waterproof, ventilation and lighting of the underground garage are difficult to build. Shougang Construction Co., Ltd., Shougang Construction Group and other units worked day and night to build the garage, pipeline, fire protection, drainage and other settings of the garage. The garage is bright and clean, not depressing. The ramp is paved with emery, a noise-reducing and new wear-resistant material; at the bottom of the Xiuchi Pool, Shougang Construction Group has laid waterproof rolling material for root wear, and the plant roots will not break through the bottom of the pool, which successfully overcomes the common problem of leakage from the top underground garage. The workers from the front-line material guarding office of the Park Management Department are responsible for parking management. Above is the view of Xiuchi waterscape, and the below is the underground garage, which has 360 parking spaces. It has both the ornamental and practical functions of the landscape. During the summing-up conference, it received unanimous praise from the participants.

For the construction of the park, Shougang people, being both the witnesses and builders, feel extremely proud of the work they created with their painstaking sweat. Chen Zhen said: “Although the participants in the conference in the room do not see us, many of our workers in Shougang are quietly doing all kinds of service security work behind the scenes.”
